Phantom Liberty pretty much made this a completely different game.

Tell me more, because that sounds like I've underestimated how big a deal Phantom Liberty is. I imagined an extra quest, not something that changes the existing game.

Well, Phantom Liberty in and of itself is a pretty big expansion with a whole new area to explore, a bunch of new vehicles and weapons, a new ending, a really big add on with sidequests and a big main quest.

But more importantly is that it came alongside a really huge patch that literally changes everything. Like, it changes clothing so it's no longer how you get your buffs. With few exceptions, clothing is no longer how you get buffs. It refined car combat. It completely overhauled core mechanics like how your hacking works, how much of your body you can modify with what kind of quality upgrades depending on your stats. The police AI is completely different.

Like, not so much Phantom Liberty in and of itself, but the patches that came alongside it literally changed the game. You take vanilla Cyberpunk from its original release and compare it to what it is now, it really does feel like a completely different game.

I did start another playthrough. I'm keeping the most recent saves so I can always go back to my more complete V, but I only need three easy-to-get trophies for the platinum and Corpo is the only path I haven't done yet.

Not sure if I'll keep going after getting the plat or if I'll just go back to my old saves though. Probably depends on how much playing from scratch for the first time with all the patches grabs me.

I'll have to put a lot of thought into my build, since for once I won't have a team to do all the work in combat for me.

Well, the three life paths (corpo, street kid, nomad) only really changes the very beginning of the game and some dialogue choices. It doesn't really matter much beyond that. As far as your build, it really just comes down to your playstyle, But whether you go heavy into one or two of the skill trees or if you spread things out into jack-of-all-trades, the game is good at accomidating where you are. I mean, it's a single player game, so it accounts for not having a team.

So now I have the plat on PS5 and PS4. Sooo, I could continue with my Corpo run...go to the finish. Ooooor, I could go back to my old Nomad build with all my max stats, everything finished and unlocked.

I may continue with this one. I actually have max bond with Johnny, which is the one thing I don't have in my other saves. And it's not like the other saves are going anywhere, so long as I'm careful.

Oh jive! I just killed Ozob! The other two playthroughs, this didn't happen. But on the Beat on the Brat quest...I blew him up with his nose grenade. I...I didn't mean to do that. I didn't know you could do that. I mean...holy crap!

I already talked about this in the "What Made You Happy Today" thread. https://www.allspark.com/home/threads/the-what-made-you-happy-today-thread.2926/page-20#post-165014

But considering what game this motorcycle's from, it felt like I should at least post the picture here as well.

Okay, I'm just about ready to settle in to watch Blade Runner. But it just hit me as I reached for my DVD...now I realize why Takemura looks so familIar.

Of course, I already knew why Misty looked familiar.

When I'm finally done with estate bs I think I'll buy this and play it until I forget who I am.
Just out of curiosity, are you planning on PS5, PC or Switch 2?

From what videos I've seen comparing them, it's very much a case of having to have them side by side to see any difference at all. Even then you have to really squint, stand on your head, cross your fingers and whistle Dixie to really see the difference.

So if you're planning on getting a Switch 2, maybe that version would be a better option for you with its mobility or docked options.

Probably PS5. My current computer is probably good enough to handle it, but games are huge and I'm a little nuts about how I organize my hard drives.

And there's other things I would play on a PS5. You probably don't need three guesses.

PS5 is a good way to go. I absolutely love the haptic feedback controls. And like I said, the differences really are something you'd notice on a side by side, squint and convince yourself it's probably the lighting type thing.

I'm really only interested in getting it for Switch 2 because I'm one of those fanatic crazy people...plus portability.

I think the main thing is that you just don't get it for PS4. Yes, I got it for PS4. Heck! I finished and platinumed it on PS4. But I've since upgraded to PS5 and would never stake my reputation on suggesting the PS4 version.

You know, small aside, I've heard of other games having their redemption stories (Witcher 3, No Man's Sky), but it was actually pretty interesting living through this one.

I was there for the whole Keanu Reeves advertising campaign. I was there for the preorder. I played it from vanilla to current version. Learned a bunch of expansions loits that have been patched. Even uploaded a YouTube video of a building that was glitched, only for it to be patched later.

Like, you hear about game redemption stories, but I actually lived this one.

So, Cyberpunk on the Switch...it's actually pretty amazing. I'd have to do a side by side, but the graphics are really great. The gameplay is...hmm...weeeeeell

I tried playing with joycons and the camera just seems to whip around like crazy. It's hard to be precise about where I look because the camera moves too fast. And if you have gyroscope activated...bloody hell!

But then I played it with my old Switch Pro Controller and it felt really good. There was a slight bit of adjustment being so used to the PS5, but it really worked very well. Even driving felt really good.

So I guess the thing is to use a pro-controller.

Also, I kinda miss the haptic-feedback of the PS5 controller.

But other than that, it was very sweet playing it on Switch 2. It looks absolutely amazing. It's breathtaking.

Also, not really much of a strike against it, just kind of a note...does anyone else think it feels a bit darker on Switch 2?
