Climate change (because it's still political for some reason)

No to the green skin and pointy hat (as far as I've seen), yes to the cauldron.

In the first days of my dad's cancer fight, before he'd told any of his friends about it yet, she called him in tears wanting to know what was going on because every fiber in her body was screaming at her that something was terribly wrong with him and she needed to make him some soup.

The Amoc may collapse someday. I'm thinking some smaller things have already collapsed or gone into overdrive. The weather this summer hasn't just been hotter. It works differently. I'm still waiting for rain to cool things down here, and I'm still watching as every blob on the radar abruptly disintegrates like it's slamming into a forcefield. I'll watch in hope as an hour with an 84% chance of rain abruptly plummets to 9%. Forecasts have always been a joke but they are no longer reliable even one hour into the future. Something is broken.

Like I said, "climate change" makes it sound like something only an old fogey would be scared of; we need to start saying "climate destabilization."

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

The same AI literally breathing pure C02 into the atmosphere just to exist? The same AI literally burning down entire forest to give us shitty fake celebrity pron?

Will the answer involve suicide?

FB friend:
Environmentalism was doomed in western society the moment Ronald Reagan convinced people that it was unmanly. The science didn't even matter after that point.

Even a disaster as spectacular as Exxon Valdez barely made a dent in the long-term trend, because once environmentalism became an unmanly thing, it was guaranteed that all of the insecure males would mock and reject it out of hand, and insecure males are a powerful voting bloc.

Worse yet, this became a self-sustaining phenomenon. Since men were far more likely to reject environmentalism, environmental groups tend to be more dominated by women, which only reinforces the impression that environmentalism is unmanly.

Meh, the economy is crashing: with no way to afford fuel and no where to go anyway; emissions will drop no matter what.

Yeah, with the price of everything going up, until we can drink gas, and I'm sure MAHA is working on it, I'm sure emissions will go down as more and more people can't go anywhere or do anything.

Somehow it'll still be Biden's fault when MAGAts can't afford to drive their giant compensation trucks covered in eagles, Trump flags, and skulls.
