Climate change (because it's still political for some reason)

Ridiculously high temperatures expected this coming week in the UK. Not fun when our buildings are designed to insulate, have poor air flow, and air conditioning isn't widely found in buildings, well, except supermarkets or high-end offices. Just everything is built around the idea that an unusually hot summer day is 18C (64F), not 32C (90F).

This is the most brutal summer I can remember. Hugging forecasters keep promising that rain is going to cool things down a little bit, but I've been watching in increasing annoyance all week as every blob on the radar either abruptly swerves around my neighborhood or disintegrates like it's slamming into a forcefield.

Not to divert from our usual black humor, but I’ve seen the same thing here.

I think it’s the Air Force Base we’re right next to. I still maintain that the air flight activity “stirs up” the local atmosphere enough to be disruptive element in storm paths and intensity. Not to a grand degree (those 60MPH+ fronts are going to smash through anything), but enough that lower speed systems can be effected.

I do live pretty close to an airport, and all the storms here right now are slow speed stuff, except when they hit warp speed to swerve around me. They are obviously running into something that's either yanking them away or shearing them into oblivion.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

My sister in law in a witch: and that is a hurtful stereotype. Most witches have gardens, and are also incredibly lazy.

I swear, the impact of the wizard of oz will never die.

It's finally raining.

They know I know...

Do you have any local witches who really really don't like rain, perhaps?

I don't know how she feels about rain but there is a genuine local witch here. Genuinely 100% the real deal.
