Gosh darn it, could have slipped in a reference to Grant in there somewhere, argh!
So what's the actual canon path in Castlevanvia 3? When I was younger, I toyed with the idea of writing an fanfic where Trevor frees Grant but takes Sypha to the ghost ship.
Grant takes the swamp path and recruits Alucard. They call meet up at the castle during the doppelganger stage and fight the boss together.
What I remember thinking that each hero was facing their doppelganger but stalemate so Trevor says something like, 'I can't beat myself but I can definitely beat a vampire' and he attacks and successfully kills Alucard's doppelganger.
They switch enemies and... I can't remember who Grant could successfully kill. I thiiiink I had Alucard bite copy Sypha. If that's the case, Sypha kills copy Grant and Grant kills copy Trevor.
I also remember writing a scene where Frankenstein is beaten by Trevor and Sypha and Frankenstein realizes Sypha is female and says he will resurrect and attack their children.
Also I remember naming the sinking city stage with the bone serpent as Pillarus. Cuz it was pillars.
