Okay, the following news post is the confusing one. It's for the new Yolopark toy of Ladybug, but seemingly for trademark purposes, the toy is being sold under the name of "Cliffjumper" instead, complete with the Autobot designation instead of being sold as a Decepticon. The text of the news post appears to go out of its way to indicate that this "Cliffjumper" toy is not what it appears to be, that there is more to the story behind this character than what's printed on the package, short of just stating outright that her real name is "Ladybug" seemingly due to them not being allowed to say so in this toy advert. All will apparently be revealed in the accompanying pack-in comic titled "A Cliffjumper's Tale".

But speaking frankly, if the name "Ladybug" couldn't be trademarked, then they really should have picked a name that could instead of beating around the bush with all this "Cliffjumper" misdirection, as this is not going to be well-received from those who were looking forward to a new female Decepticon.

Here is a transcription of the text seen printed on the side of her box:
ORBITAL CITY-STATE ANTEX
25-12-060016A

As she opened the super computer Caretaker XII, she did not know with which universe to start. She did however know her mission: track down every last doppelgänger and destroy them for the indignities she had suffered. She quickly found that the multiverse had already beaten her to the punch! With her mission in tatters before it began, she soon realized a simple truth: What she had carried out in her home universe was almost pre-destined. She was simply a pawn in a larger multiversal near constant. This epiphany dwarfed every past insult cast onto her and so a new pian was devised. Her revenge would now be to save har newly embraced brethren

Had nothing to do with trademark (or lack of ability to trademark).

It’s pretty funny actually, especially when people find out all the ins/outs and why the name ended up being dropped.

Finally made it to the hotel. My dad and I are staying at the Courtyard Marriott on the third floor. First thing we are going to do right now is take a much needed nap, for we are really exhausted from all the travel we did today. Once we are rested, we'll see what the rest of the evening looks like for us.

Parked, checked into the Marriott, and now I'm in line!

Naturally rocking my Invader Zim messenger bag I've been taking to cons since I got it in the early 2000's.

I'm back in my hotel room at the moment. Gonna open up the two Yolopark sets in a little bit.

Will head back down to the con for the movie night a little later.

It didn't seem prudent, all things considered, to enter the United States. I wish it were otherwise, but that's not up to me.

Still, I look forward to the reports.

Did they show off more unproduced BotCon/TFCC concepts? I want them to keep doing that every year. Somehow.

Sadly, no. I was kinda hoping they'd discuss that with the BotCon 101 panel, but sadly, that panel was all about the story behind the Yolopark Cliffjumper kit.

Anyway, my haul. I signed up for the Blokees Speed-Building competition, and got weeded out before the first round...but I got me a Blokee, and I'm happy with that. I also got the aforementioned Yolopark Cliffjumper kit, a t-shirt, a notebook, the Transformers Expo Super Starscream/Thundercracker, some art prints from Dan Khanna, a Hot Wheels Bumblebee, a Kinetic Kustoms Matrix of Leadership, a Beast Wars II Galvatron, and a box of the first wave of Blokees Galaxy Version kits. Amazingly enough, the box had the chase toy!

If folks know where to find me on Facebook, I posted pictures there. I'm also putting those pictures up on my DeviantArt page with more detail ten at a time.
