Built the Shining wave 2 box. The light-up effect is great for Prime and Sunstorm, and Soundwave and Beachcomber are thick enough in the chest that it works, but Sideswipe and Grimlock don't work out so great. Might paint the inside of their chest plates to focus the light a bit more. And also paint up Ravage and Laserbeak.

Of course, now my non-Shining Soundwave is a bit redundant. Debating if I want to try trading him for another figure or paint him as Soundblaster.

Finally got the time to put the big Prime together. Thought I'd throw some pics up as I built him.
It's not often I have a day where I don't have homework or other obligations. Been looking forward to this build for a while.

So final thoughts now that I'm done with the build.
This was very easy. the pieces came away from the tree with little effort, no need for clippers, though I did snip some bits of flash off.
The instructions were very easy to follow and well laid out. The trees were all marked.

This is an excellent kit for a younger builder. Early teens could do this with no problem.
Poseability is very good, the accessories are nice, the light up feature is really bright.
Highly recommended.

Got the chase SG-Bumblebee in my Defender class box.
Also got an error pack. My Megatron came with 3 shoulder pieces instead of his helmet. I've got an email in to customer service.

So, I guess Walmart is going to be actively carrying these going forward? Spotted a couple cases at Walmart, seemingly with a regular spot on the shelf. Right now, Walmart is getting Galaxy Wave 5 (TF One).

Picked one up, it was Bumblebee.

What a coincidence. My usual Wamart also randomly had a case of the TF1 Galaxy Version on the shelf, and I've never mucked with one of these, so for five bucks (and not being the fully-chibi ones) it was worth a shot. Got Bee; real quick assembly, functional basic articulation, not bad for a non-transforming desk dude of a bot. The thing stopping me from going to grab one or two more is, of course, blind boxes - I could assume that out of a mostly-fresh box, I grabbed the only Bee, but that also assumes it's the same box if I go back.

I like how simple and functional they are as figures, based on my sample size of one, and I'd love to see other robots in this style.

I have yet to see any Blokees at Walmart. But that's okay, I bought them all from Blokees direct so . . .

So . . .
Got my replacement helmet from Blokees customer service. Yay, I have Megatron now.
My local walmarts now also have cases of TFOne Blokees. They also have 10 dollar larger kits of BB and Prime. I went ahead and grabbed the Prime.
it's RotB Prime. Here's the interesting part. He is bigger and more detailed than Galaxy versions of Blokees. But he uses the same torso core! it's one of the light up cores so when you shake him his eyes light up. It is another really fun build and at 10 bucks, I consider it a bargain. I'm very pleased overall.
Anyway, here's a picture of all my Blokees Optimus. Optimi?

Picked up the Action Edition Megatron. He's a bit bigger than I expected. Pretty nice kit for the price. His silver parts have a nice metallic coating, the inner frame is metallic gunmetal, and he's got great color separation so there are no stickers involved. Even the little colored details on his stomach are separate parts. The instructions say that a nipper isn't necessary, but I'd recommend one anyway to reduce stress marks when popping parts off the sprues.

Pretty good articulation for the beefy sculpt. The right arm is a bit hampered by the fusion cannon, of course. The side-to-side motion in the hips is also a little loose, but that's easy enough to tighten up. The mace chain is jointed for dynamic swinging poses. (Yes, I know it should be on the other arm, but shush.) The fingers are also fully articulated; they come pre-molded, similar to a Real Grade Gundam kit, so they're not too tedious to assemble. The included stand can help support him, but the arm isn't really strong enough to keep him airborne without at least one foot touching down. The Decepticon symbol block has a magnet inside; touching it to his chest lights up his eyes (actually light-piping up through the neck) and chest. The fusion cannon also has a gimmick, pulling on the back opens the barrel up a bit, like a charging effect.

"Yes, I know there's a special place for me in Hell. It's called the throne!"

Ahem. He also includes the pistol and sword from the Movie, Reflector in camera mode, Kremzeek, and Laserbeak. Reflector and Kremzeek are static pieces (and I'm probably gonna paint or panel line Kremzeek's face later, it gets lost in the transparent plastic). Laserbeak can move his wings up and down, has a ball joint at the base of the skull, a hinge at the neck, and both legs are connected on a hinge. He also has alternate legs with a peg to let him attach to ports on Megatron's arms. Probably gonna paint in his eyes later. I've got a gold Gundam Marker around here somewhere.....

The throne doubles as a storage box, able to hold all of his extra parts (two alternate faces, alternate arm panels to hide or expose the port for the fusion cannon, Laserbeak's alternate legs, and all of the weapons except the fusion cannon, which instead pegs onto the back). There are a few joint parts left over on the runners, I'm guessing it's a shared runner with the Optimus kit and they're used there.

I haven't had the time to put my Action Edition Megatron together yet. I'm really looking forward to it though. The Optimus is also amazing.
Here's 86 Optimus with Action Optimus

Thank you for posting this! I was in a comic/toy shop yesterday and they had these in stock. I hadn't seen them in-person before, and decided to pick it up. It was a shade under $40 and I feel like it's a lot of bang for the buck. Looking forward to putting it together!
