Where are the actual Avengers other than Thor? Yes I know some post Infinity Wars "Avengers" are there. I was hoping (maybe even praying a bit) that Steve would return, I wasn't expecting it, but where are Bruce, Clint, Vision, hell even Wanda, for crying out loud?!
Also want to point out that Jeremy Renner is still recovering from his injuries after being ran over by his snow plow. Although, he is posting fitness videos and flirting with Jessicca Simpson, so maybe he is up to it now.
Part of it is becuase Doom is a master planner, he takes months if not years working on his big plans down to every detail. See the current/recent Storyline where Doom has literally taken over the world, and there's been little the heroes COULD do about it. Secret Wars is similar in he made a powerplay, and it was very hard to undo it. Doom is a genius nearly on par with Reed (one of if not the smartest person on the planet) and is a very patient and meticulous planner. Everything else is just dressing on top of those reasons. Doom has constantly been one of Marvel's "Everyone's problem" type villians.
There were a couple others while he was warming up that never really got documented, though. One of those was a little embarrassing because he stubbed his toe and pressed the button by accident . . .
Word is spreading that Doomsday will be Sir Patrick Stewart's final film role, closing out his career with a final performance as Professor X, as he closed out his Picard role last year on the final season of Star Trek Picard.

I know IRL has gotten crazy and such, but…
Since the release of Avatar 3, Disney has been dropping teasers for Doomsday on a weekly basis. I heard “4” of them at one point, but who knows. Wouldn’t surprise me if Disney continued dropping them until a teaser on Super Bowl weekend (February 8th). First two featured Steve Rogers and Thor
With the 3rd one out this past weekend featuring…The X-Men!
With Professor X sporting a very 90s X-Men jacket, Magneto sporting long hair and a bright red outfit, and James Marsden as Cyclops in a full on 90s Jim Lee outfit with Sentinel teases[/spoier]
Given trends with the prior teasers, expect this one to be posted in a few days online (In an official capacity).
I’ve been following Screen Crush’s analysis on these. They tend to be pretty solid, with a deeper familiarity with current lore than I have, but also aren’t as prone to succumbing to overt leaks and heresay. They’ve got a pretty solid idea about this film, IMO:
Basically, they propose that Doomsday is following a Tony Stark variant as he captures/kidnaps assorted young offspring of heroes with tremendous power (Franklin Richards, Wiccan, America Chavez, Steve Rogers’ son, Skaar, Love, etc) to restore/create his own universe after his was destroyed by an multiversal incursion (see: Doctor Strange 3, What If, Spider-Man 3). Such a plot would not only bring him into conflict with all those heroes, but also Loki (from the TV series).
My thoughts: In this context, the X-Men might actually be fleeing their own world as Sentinels overrun the mutant population, possibly by leveraging Photon’s powers as she tries to return to the “core” universe. That incursion might lead to a revelation of Doom‘s plan. This could also lead to a need for the heroes to counter Tony Stark by recruiting ANOTHER from another timeline, leading to a return of Iron Man in Secret Wars. And would still leave open a “proper” Doom to be featured later on.
If such ideas are even in the same ballpark, it might go a LONG way towards “clearing out” a number of lingering plot threads from prior, major, Multiverse Saga projects, while also setting up the “soft reset” Feige is eyeing post-Secret Wars. Shockingly, Marvel has NO films announced following 2027, nor any major live action series that I’m aware of (with Wonderman done and Visionquest and Daredevil in post production). So maybe the universe will get a little break after Secret Wars? The only major projects announced have been a Fantastic Four sequel, Black Panther 3 (estimated 2028 release), and an X-Men reboot.
Frankly, I”m just a bit sad stuff like Moon Knight and the horror stuff has been seemingly left by the wayside, at the moment.
