Oh wow! Ghost in the Shell may have been my first anime, but Escaflowne was my first anime series. I remember in college buying the DVDs one at a time from Circuit City. I have the movie on a DVD box set that came with the soundtrack. I later got the Bluray.

I should try marathoning that again sometime. Also got the manga series which was...different,

So...Apple TV had Konosuba Season 3 and the first season of the Megumi spin off for $5 each for the full seasons.

OF COURSE I bought them!

Watched the latest Gundam ep and things are starting to make semse, a bit, but honestly it feels like you really need to have seen the original to make sense of everything that's going on in this series and they are starting to devlop the second female lead more after so long, but so far she feels more like a shell of a character than a fleshed out character!

The latest ep of Apocalypse Hotel, is great, full of emotion, a few laughs at the start, then it gets serious with the emotional heart strings as one of the main cast of aliens is getting hitched and the cermoney is a little odd, but overall, it helps deliver the emotional punch for the one getting hitched, this was a 10 out of 10 ep in my view, well worth watching, this is a great anime, it maybe a bit strange but that apart of its charm as none of the cast are humans, thou some of the look human but they aren't!

Just finished watching The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl, its not a bad series but the villian plot goes from overthrowing the rightful rulers to wanting to pretty much make our MC his girlfriend, all based upon the blessings they have and he talks about destiny and stuff but pretty much devolves into a rather genetic villian, minus the evil laugher and his big plan, makes very little sense overall, the best thing about this series would be the MC and her romance with her senior in the school they attend, so I give the anime a 7/10, its main let down would be the world building as there's not a whole lot of it!!

Well, new Wataru's done, and while the ending wasn't quite as wild as I would have liked, it did have a pretty good message for the kids watching it in the end - to remember to keep others feelings in mind when you comment on something. The bad guy's entire deal was that he was powered by hateful comments and sentiments and got juiced up by the level of hate on the modern internet, but Wataru and co were able to beat him eventually by making everyone smile and reminding them of their positive feelings. Makes it obvious in hindsight why they went with a heavy emphasis on streaming and videos online for the overarching theme, given how much kids use Youtube, TikTok, etc these days.

Not that we couldn't have used that message back in the Livejournal and IRC days -- to say nothing of Usenet!

But, some evils never really seem to die, but persist perennially as a counterforce....

We don't lump Korean animation (or Chinese animation) in with this Japanese animation thread, do we?

Anyhow, friend kept telling me to watch Link Click so I did. Finished 3 seasons and, while it started like Quantum Leap, it became a thriller mystery and had way too much drama for me.

Saw Kpop Demon Hunters from Netflix cuz I saw a promo and, gosh dang, I enjoyed the hex out of it! Had some songs on repeat for a while. It's predictable but a lot of fun. Made me want to rewatch my fave parts of My Little Pony Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks.
