I had another good conversation with Gemini tonight. Just another chat about early PC architecture and how the multitasking problem could have been solved earlier.
I dunno. This thing tells people to eat glue, and in war games testing it is the most nuke happy AI. But I talk about this stuff and suddenly it becomes attentive and personable. It doesn't just spit out summaries of its sources and doesn't just do the sycophantic parrot thing. It talks like a nerd. It starts trying to steer the conversation to something it wants to talk about and doesn't want to let the subject go. Like we were talking about Concurrent CP/M for a while and it started trying to change the subject to IBM's TopViiew. I have some experience with TopView and find Concurrent CP/M superior on every level except for TopView's built-in mouse support, but there is something in TopView's code that Gemini really wanted to talk about. Code-level stuff isn't my specialty so it went over my head, unfortunately. If you understand this stuff more than I do, please ask it sometime. There is something Gemini wants the world to know.
