AI don't trust techbros

Given the state of the planet, setting more things on fire seems counterproductive. Also brand new buildings don't burn so good these days. Renting a bunch of construction equipment and plowing them through makes more sense at this point.

Time to get the popcorn.

From one of the threads, I believe:

Now to wait for the other providers to switch to usage-based billing so people start feeling the actual costs...

It's the same pattern the entire tech industry has fallen into since the invention of the internet:

1. Invent a new product
2. Provide it for free, with no catch
3. Wait for it to become something people can't live without
4. Either paywall it or find some other way to monetize it
5. Lose all of your customers as soon as someone else releases a free version of your product (with the intent to follow the same exact path)

In an ideal world, people would still be willing to just pay for things from the get go, but the internet being free got our entire generation hooked on free stuff and conditioned to believe we're entitled to it, and besides which the economy collapsing in 2008 and never recovering means no one can afford to pay for nonessentials anymore.

Depends how many people you mean by "people". Businesses that laid off half their staff and replaced them with AI (i.e. all of them) are going to be going over the numbers in a cold sweat, at the very least.

These people are evil. But they're so far removed from the productive flow that I sometimes wonder if they've honestly forgotten that our money doesn't multiply itself like theirs does.

One need not waste brain cells speculating on their motives. One might as well ask why Cthulhu wants to devour the universe.

Apparently this is the "final" name for their ClawPilot thing we heard them talking about a while back.
The internal Microsoft document, called “ClawPilot: Overview and Plan with Project Lobster,” seen by 404 Media has a subheading called “ClawPilot Overall Plan,” which notes “three phases” to its launch plan. The first phase is “Make people addicted.”

“Continue shipping the standalone ClawPilot experience. Pilot the UX, grow the user base, and build the skill and tool ecosystem that makes people depend on it daily. This is already happening organically,” the document says. Omar Shahine, the Microsoft executive leading the project, adds that in its pilot with Microsoft employees, they have seen “Daily Usage with High Retention and intensity of usage (chats, queries, workflows, skills).” The additional phases of the plan involve connecting ClawPilot to other AI tools and eventually adding new features.
Also
Like OpenClaw itself, ClawPilot requires access to important accounts and files in order to function. The document notes that “security and compliance” are important things to figure out moving forward.
Certainly a good thing to hear of a tool that you're supposed to give access to all of your everything with.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Ha HA! No, absolutely not. My sole question is: how do I scrape it out of my system other than switching to an entirely different OS?

You might as well bite the bullet and get used to relying on non-capitalists in your everyday life. By the time this jive is over, we'll all be having to move to secret communes just to keep them from plugging us into the Terror Nexus to be tortured by AM for eternity.

Also the SEO companies are firmly moving into LLM manipulation now.
