Elon has also said we're going to need UBI. There's no plan to make UBI happen, but that's not stopping him or any other AI bros from pushing ahead with this.

Yeah, it’s weird Musky boy is apparently in favour of UBI while also being incredibly anti-welfare state (he even had a recent diatribe against universal healthcare). I guess people like him don’t really have a coherent ideological worldview.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.
Citizen
In his mind; healthcare is wasted on poor people but UBI means more people have money to buy his jive. Because he doesn't understand that without universal healthcare, any coin "made" through UBI will just be poured onto private health insurance and won't functionally exist.

He doesn't really want UBI at all, because the funding for it would have to come from people like him. He's just saying "Yeah we're killing so many jobs that society will need it to not collapse, not that that's my problem, LOL have fun collapsing, society!" Remember, dude's an Objectivist; he believes it's his literally-God-given right to take everything from everyone and give nothing back and that the proof is that he can.

Yup. What gets me is he wants the population to increase at the same time he wants to replace all workers with robots and ai... Essentially he wants people to be born just so they can suffer.... Most ironic part is CEOs could be much more easily replaced with AI than physical jobs could be in a lot of areas but the corps won't do that because of the myth that CEOs are special.

He wants to replace human workers with machines because machines don't worry about pay or unions. That it leaves nobody with a paycheck to actually buy his crap hasn't quite made it through the ketamine fog.

If it does, they'll just do what they always do and find a way to replace it with something even worse.

At this point it's not what worries me about the future of Microsoft products; it's the fact that they fired all the real programmers and replaced them with chatbots and we're already seeing how it's broken damn near everything.

We all hate Microsoft, but they do listen. We aren't the customers they care about (for good reason), but when the customers they do care about start complaining they do listen. The corporate and government customers aren't buying Copilot. It's dead.

They'll definitely slow walk the removal as much as possible to minimize the humiliation, but it's dead.

I'm told the Seahawks won tonight. Grok didn't guess the score but did guess the winner a few days ago.

It was a 50-50 shot so it doesn't prove anything yet, but it's a data point. If Grok still exists next year we'll see if it can repeat this.

I like how Grok is claiming it "crunched historical data" and ran "10,000 Monte Carlo simulations" as if those are things it is capable of doing.

And you're burning a whole bunch of energy in the process. It's very similar to crypto mining in that respect, as well.
