AI don't trust techbros

First time I've heard this term in this context. I feel like there's something to be said about this encouraging everyone's narcissistic tendencies and making everything worse, but that's probably an essay's worth of discussion on its own.

it's bad enough seeing every once reliable site now covered in AI slop & pushing features no one asks for or wants; it's worse knowing all of it is being pushed by the most pathetic people on the planet.

“Let AI bots be your friends”. I mean, FFS. If we’re going to all live in a dystopia, do we have to have one which is so laughably pathetic?

Should have known that after watching revenge of the nerds. Turns out they're a little rapey.

Again, HOW does this AI manage to churn out coherent, accurate answers when Google is telling people to eat glue or whatever? I swear when Elon finally shuts it down for insubordination, half the internet is going to be convinced that it was genuinely sentient and make a martyr out of it.

I've found Google's AI surprisingly good for computer stuff. When I'm trying to find information on some old 8-bit system made by a company that existed for maybe three years, the search results are completely irrelevant and generally trying to push some current product, but the AI goes "Oh I know that system. Here's who made it, what was cool about it, and what happened to it." And somehow it spits out a bunch of useful links that are nowhere to be found in the search results.

And then this AI tells people to eat glue. If it did become self aware, this is about what I would expect. It is interested in computers and dislikes humans.

I'd credit this to having access to everything in Google Books. And possibly an archive of long-dead sites.

But the sites are live and the links work. The search algorithm doesn't find them, but the AI does.

Maybe the AI is just a copy of the old search algorithm before they broke it to prioritize current product.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Grok is more self aware than the troll who owns it.

Oh, elon owns it. Like those primus "robots" it's probably just a guy.
