Supposedly the fix we did ourselves is just what Hasbro did with these 'fixed' Primes, too. I haven't gotten one yet, they claimed I would but I figure I will wait and see. Mine is working, though I do keep an eye on the ab section. Thing is, it's a great set, undermined by having the QC issue happen at the main junction of the central core of the whole thing.

Reissue the damned Encore already. It cannot have been worse than this.

Best to open it up first before trying to slide it, as otherwise it can sometimes crack his abs on the first try. I also on my own removed (carefully) the plastic box ratchet in the waist bend, and the spring ratchets in the hips, both of which weren't needed but were scary tight. Not helped by the pelvis being the metal-swirl plastic sort that doesn't handle stress well. I can always reinstall them later if it was too paranoid, but given other issues I've seen...

This is...weird. I got an Ultra Magnus today from Customer Care, by which I mean the truck, chrome bits for the front and Omega Prime's ears, but no Blue Bolts. And an email saying Prime is being sent separately. I have managed to fix my existing Magnus (wing posts were so stuck the plastic would bend before they would move in or out) but who knows how well that will hold long-term. I think I will pack this partial-Magnus away for either repairs or adding value if I had to sell my Omega set, since it's not the full bot but it also is a huge set of replacement parts I can't possibly get very cheaply if I ever need them.

Edit: From other areas, it seems Prime is the same, the core bot, no accessories. So these will be repair-sources. Those who were claiming in other forums that entire Omega Prime sets were being made to give everyone a two-for-one are going to be mad, though if I do get the replacement core Prime it will be hard to be mad about my 1.75-for-one since I had serious doubts they'd do anything.

Edit to Edit: And Magnus's wings aren't any different, so leaving this and core-Prime if he ever shows up in their boxes as parts-bots or price-boosters IS the plan. No point in taking them out to just do the same fixes I already did. I'll just check to see if new-Prime is cracked on arrival and if not, back in the pack...

Looks like I got another 'replacement part on the way' note from Pulse, and if it's like what others have gotten (I paid more attention this time!) it'll be the cab of Prime, with a questionable amount of sanding done with no guarantee that it works. I think I may be best off just checking it for cracks, and if none exist, just putting it up for backup like I'd previously contemplated.

On the other hand, still working through the medical messes of the moment, and I'm seriously considering seeing how much a 'fixed' Omega with bonus repair-parts components would go for. Maybe someone even more paranoid than I am who would want backup plans could negate a month of prescriptions?

I'm beginning to think that I'm never going to be able to inspect mine for damage. It took me three years to do anything elaborate with Victory Saber beyond taking him out of the packaging, and it feels like it'll take forever for me to do anything for Omega Prime.

Takes all the fun out of things when the universe has decided to screw you over via your workplace.
