Ugh...just so everyone knows, there is ANOTHER part of Optimus in this set to watch, it has a miniature version of Trypticon's issues. The hip forwards/backwards ratchet springs (ACTUAL METAL SPRINGS!) are so strong they can damage the ratchet teeth or even force the plastic apart, breaking the screw holes. I had noticed the tightness and opened it to give it some cube lube, then saw the much worse report in TFW, so I reopened it and saw that despite the lube I was getting some tooth chips, so I just removed the two tiny springs and plastic ratchet teeth, and put them in the box to save. The hips are so big they work as giant smooth swivels without falling over, and he does have multiple figure stand options anyway. The hips don't actually have to even move for any of the modes, either, but I figure better to be able to reassemble it properly later than have to glue it together as best I can. The springs despite being very small are so strong I have trouble squeezing them with my fingers.
Edit: the part you open to get to the springs us the lower pelvis area itself, unscrew all of the ones on the silver waist area with him face down, it'll push itself apart. The springs are on the back plate and will probably fall right out. Save those for future reuse, then just screw the waist back together and you have a less self-supporting but less self-breaking Prime, and that first part can be fixed with the stands.
Ugh...springs...why, I hope I never see another spring aga-wait, I think I already made that wish, except it Coily is a lazy bum and only applied it to the torso where it would have actually HELPED...

and FedEx has officially lost my Omega Prime.
I knew I wasn't gonna be home during delivery hours so I used the Fedex site to reroute to a hold location I'd used before.
What I didn't know at the time was that the location had apparently gone out of business since I'd last tried to route a shipment there.
Fedex STILL tried to deliver to it.
Went to the location in question just to be sure- doors are locked, phone line is disconnected and the strip mall its in is being demolished.
Went to the local distribution center with the tracking #; they said to check the hold location.
Filed a claim with FedEx; they said it was AT the hold location that's been closed.
called Hasbro Pulse; they ALSO said it was available for pickup at a closed storefront.
serves me right for backing this ******* thing...

You should open it up because if there are problems, it’d be easier to get Hasbro on the line now instead of months or years later.
I'd recommend opening him up. If you do and he's not cracked then some relatively simple toy surgery will fix the issue. If he is then you should be able to get it sorted relatively quickly with Hasbro.
I agree, this is a case where MISB is not the way to go. You can deal with customer service now if needed. Later it will be too late.
okay well right now my haslab prime is on my shelf combined as god fire convoy and i really do not feel like disassembling him to unscrew his legs (i know i probably could do it cuz it's not like the screws on his legs are being blocked by any of the stuff but y'know just having to deal with all of that while there's a bunch of jive attached to him is more of a pain in the ass than if it were just prime by himself) and jive so uhh yeah i'll just keep that in mind to do this the next time i wanna mess with him
Snipping a bit off the springs should work. Given that these are much smaller baby springs, it should be a lot easier to cut them than the monstrosities on Titans Return Trypticon
What a mess. I'm glad I had to miss out. Hopefully the Universe repaint fixes these issues.
Mine went from Monday to Wednesday to today. Might not have time to open him up, though, since the in-laws are coming in for a visit this week.
I've had mine for weeks and I still haven't given the set a proper going-over. Life finds a way of getting in the way.
Oh, mine's arrived in Chicago. It might just make their deadline tomorrow.

Same but last I checked, its not due until July, I am honestly scared as clearly QC was laxed at the factory resulting in this mess!!
Got my set. No cracks, but I'm not gonna even try to force that joint. Time to get the tools.
