The lack of stress marks around those cracks makes this even more concerning. On top of that slider bar being too big, the red plastic might be unusually brittle.

I own Unicron, Victory Saber, and Deathsaurus and don't recall any QC issues with any of them. Omega Prime might be the first one.
hasbro literally did a second run of victory saber a couple years ago so people could send their originals in and get a fixed version because of the QC issues lol

Deathsaurus was flawless. Unicron had some disappointing losses of paint but otherwise functioned. VS and OP are the troubled ones.

What were Victory Saber's issues?

What were Victory Saber's issues?
quoting the wiki here:
Unfortunately, most if not all Victory Sabers suffer from numerous quality control issues that resulted in many collector complaints. The most common issues are damage to the gold chrome on Star Saber's chest-"V" and a diagonal scratch across his mouthplate. The latter in particular occurs identically across multiple figures, leading fans to suspect a problem with the mold itself. Other prominent problems were sword blades that could only be inserted in one of their two advertised angles, nosecone attachment notches that were incompletely formed, leaving the nosecone slanted in vehicle mode, and leg panels that won't fully close in V-Star mode. Some figures also suffer from a minor misassembly where the extendable landing gear in each of his knees are pinned to the wrong legs; the molded details are molded on a slight slant to make them sit parallel with the rest of the leg details—which are also molded on a slight slant, for the figure's bulky legs to naturally stand at an A-stance in robot mode. In some cases, both of his knees feature the exact same landing gear pieces, leaving only one leg with the molded details slanted in the wrong direction.

Got my Omega Prime. Didn't have a chance to really fiddle about with the toy today, but I have started taking everything out of the box. Gotta say, I'm pleased with how the whole thing was packaged.

if it's sealed in box, it's sealed in box: neither you nor the person you buy it from have any way of knowing the quality of the item inside, just like every other person whose buying one.
Schrodingus Prime.

"Schroptimus Prime!"

"Ultra Dingus!"

*together* "Combine to form... Schrodingus Prime!"

"...did we do it?"

"I'm not sure..."

My delivery got moved up from tomorrow to out for delivery today.

-ZacWilliam, Planning to take Magnus and Blue Bolts out right away and delay slightly on Prime till I have the tools set to deal with the spine issue. I should have some just gotta turn them up.

I'll say that of the two HasLabs I had, only VS had some minor scuffing on the chrome bits, and Deathsaurus was pretty much perfect. So I don't have any real complaints on that front.

Still, what I'm seeing from Omega Prime seems inexcusable.
I understand that this stuff can be trial and error and if this was a mainline release I wouldn't even be so cross... because this stuff does happen.
For a crowd funded limited release that cost nearly $300 though? There needs to be extra care in this regard. There just has to be. I didn't back this one specifically, but if I had, and this thing broke on me? I'd be livid. As it stands I'm wondering if Liokaiser, who I did back, will be wrecked with problems (the first HasLab combiner 😬) and that's not a great feeling.

I actually called their customer service knowing it was quite late, but asking if it could be cancelled. No luck, too far along though I haven't had a ship notice yet. You'd think it would be better than a return if broken for them. As it is, it looks like market saturation on ebay, so likely not a great option. I guess I can open it up and try to fix things, I did it with Trypticon, twice. This is smaller. But still annoying. Hopefully I can figure out a good option. Biggest issue of trying a 'sight unseen' flip is I have tried hard to keep a good eBay rating. I don't want this screwing it up if it did ship cracked. As the original purchaser presumably I'd have an easier time with customer service for exchange.

I'm really interested in Robogeek1973's experience, tfw is just doomscrolling at the best of times, I wonder how prevalent this really is.

Got mine today. I won't have time to open it or do anything for several days. Life gets complicated far too goddamn quick.

Got mine today. Magnus and Blue Bolts were awesome.

Optimus looked fine, but out of an abundance of caution I unscrewed the bottom of the back before using the center spine. It then was pretty easy getting the spine out with just those two screws removed. I sanded the sides of the offending block with an emory board and shaved it a very little with an exacto knife for about 30 minutes. The first try it seemed a little tight so I did it a little more till when inserted back in it moved easily and smoothly and then I sealed him back up.

He seems good now. Transformed him and then put him into super mode with no issues.

He might have never had a problem but the joint did seem very tight and seems better now and hey, better safe than sorry.

At least it's a very easy fix to do. Hopefully I did it enough that there will be no future issues. It feels like it moves loose and easy and free enough now.

-ZacWilliam, oh yeah and Prime is a Beautiful toy. Both regularly and especially in super mode the thing is gorgeous (love the head and neck) and both him and magnus feel heavy in a good way and really solid.

I'm disappointed you didn't stage RiD Megatron or Ultra Magus or someone holding his spine up like Sub-Zero would, and take a picture.

So my best bet, it seems, would be to open it up, check it out, do a return/exchange if broken, but if not, do the fix and wait for a more permanent solution. I just hope the sanding doesn't preclude whatever Hasbro comes up with.

FWIW I also saw one post over on TFW of someone who's Ultra Magnus was already yellowing out of the box.

Obviously just one report so it could have just been bad luck for them but still.

I was lucky enough to get one with no cracks, so I popped off his back piece and untightened the screws about a half turn each to relieve pressure on the torso a little. I then transformed him to bot mode, let him sit to see if a crack would appear, and when one never did, I combined him with his armor today. He's still crack free, and will be getting displayed as is, which was the plan anyway.

The second one I didn't check, because like the other Haslabs I'm keeping one sealed.
