Guess we can blame Livio for that one. 😜 Vector Prime was made an exception by his being created as one of the ancient Thirteen Primes (and also was never a "Convoy" in Japanese either).

Official word at the time was that Hasbro felt there were too many toys in the line with "Prime" in their names by the time Rodimus's toy came along, and didn't want to further dilute the "Prime" title in the toyline. Meanwhile, Animated Rodimus's very first appearance in anything, a character...

Okay, yeah, that one change happened. But compared to the backlash of every other design, that was one minor thing.

Aren't these named after the actual Hot Wheels car names, though?

Yeah, y'all remember the initial reactions to seeing the 2007 movie designs? Hasbro and Paramount stuck to their guns and doubled down on those designs in spite of the backlash.

Eh, even regardless of how different it looked from the game design, that first movie Sonic design really did look hideous.

The ventriloquist has become the dummy.

Similarly, because of shows like Super Sentai where the heroes get swapped out and replaced by new ones every year, Japanese kids had already properly moved on from Convoy to Rodimus Convoy, and were confused by Convoy's permanent return at the end of Season 3. Wait, aren't these just those same Pat Lee-artwork sets Hasbro China put out last year?

That's basically what the UK version of the movie already does. I'd pull up a clip to show what I mean, but after searching all over, it seems all clips of the UK ending have either been scrubbed from YouTube or buried deep beneath irrelevance.

Which are probably just the individual standard-retail versions in their original boxes placed inside the larger boxes, rather than special giftset versions with any proper differences from the originals.

After this came the Yolopark concepts: Radio AM Robot, made from Soundwave and Megatron kit parts with a new head. This one did not happen because they were not allowed to mix and match parts from different Yolopark kits, answering that earlier question. Avatar Megatron happened instead...
