Odd thing, on Pulse the Cartoon version of ML Soundwave is 165 but the Toy deco is $200? BBTS has a similar price difference. Meanwhile, the first animation colors Predaking is MORE expensive than the 'police' themed one.
It features minicons, so it's not off topic!
(Background: For last week's House of Svengoolie Movie, 'The Land Unknown', Nostalgiaferatuu suggests this as a method of avoiding dinosaur attacks)
It's Star Wars. Traumatic amputation is SUPPOSED to happen...
Edit: Ugly disappointing thought that I will throw out: They've made a LOT of football helmet transformers, there's no reason they couldn't reuse the engineering and make the Speed Racer crossover his helmet, not his car.
Disney did approve a few flat out WEIRD Chogokin, including combiners. They approved some strange departures like samurai themed Star Wars armored characters. But when a licencer wants to make a $400+ specialty collectors item you probably don't argue as much as with an action figure a ten year...
The odd thing is I was really looking at Mach 5 possibilities (mostly for my Monster City diorama as a casualty). I've looked at everything from Jada to model kits, hadn't bought anything yet. If the future Transformer actually turns into that and looks well done, I may go for it instead...
Conspiracy theory: The Titan remake was obviously done for the easy repaint, but later Whale Shockwave could be repainted and remolded as Tidal Wave. Then they can re-reissue the set in Japan as Shockwave and Tidal Wave (whale).
I once joked that Transformers was going to be the next Godzilla, crossing over with any franchise it can (I just learned from dvandom this week that McDonalds, Godzilla, and HELLO KITTY are all coming together to make some REALLY WEIRD Happy Meal toys).
But nowadays, Transformers and...
Sorry, I was typing fast at work on break. I was agreeing with you, if such a large number of adults were buying toys, it would be much more of a visible shift. What I thought was we already are starting to see that in the BBTS flyer emails. Every week, some of the stuff they sell makes me...
It should have two buzzsaws as weapons that fit under the Mach 5 and the entire tech spec should be one very long run on sentence said very fast and emphasize how fast that sentence should be said and how long it is and how by the time you have said the sentence that the tech spec is written in...
It already visibly does, you can see that just looking at the BBTS sales flyer emails. But it's also interesting that teens are the main growth in recipients groups. It makes sense, weirdly. The generation that grew up with screens young have started to get bored with them and are looking for...
"Not stayin' alive, not stayin' alive, no-no-no-no-" (Optimus explodes for some reason or other, in hindsight, "BalloonMasters" wasn't well thought out...).
