As much as I like the molds, I do agree with this. The Hot Wheels that both of these are based on have some really interesting and different decos available that I wish they had gone with instead.
If I were a more practical man, I would wait for the very likely repaints. But, here in the...
I did preorder the Rexblade / Wolf Buddy combo on Amazon Japan, don't know if that qualifies me for the extra sword or not. Honestly, as much as I do enjoy a good sparkly plastic sword, I think the stock blue and gold one looks better.
If you give a Mollusk a Rexblade,
he's going to want an Energy Beast to go with it.
And if you give him an Energy Beast,
then he's going to need a World Dragonus to fight.
And if you give him a Dragonus.....
I get not putting them in brick and mortar stores so as not to compete with Cyberworld, but givem how often they carry Takara-only items on Pulse, yeah, that IS odd
On the Front Page! Includes preorder links on Amazon Japan.
Love the new torso! The dinocar mode is adorably ridiculous and he looks great as a t-rex, robot, or super robot!
Love the new molds. Hippo, wolf, ankylosaur, and quetzalcoatlus are all great additions, and the new headsculpts are...
Out of the Wild(king) blue yonder, Amazon Japan has posted listings for a new wave of Wild King figures, including a brand new Energy Master torso.
The new Energy Master is named Rexblade, a triple-changing figure that converts from T-rex to sword-wielding robot to vehicle mode in addition to...
That's a fairly common demand when other companies get involved, it seems like, though I personally think it's kind of silly. No one is going to be like: "Wait a minute. Mattel is being represented by an EVIL alien robot?! They must, as a corporate policy, believe in the subjugation of...
Really liking both molds. Both have some great looking alternate decos, too, that I wouldn't mind seeing done.
This ^ one is probably too close to the first deco, though I do kind of wish they had gone with this teal instead of the blue, though both look too good to complain about.
Dang. My money was on Shockwave getting incredibly lazy with his disguises. Like, he no longer goes to all the trouble of building intricate shell bodies or anything, he just starts straight up claiming to be other people while looking exactly like himself. MAYBE a new paintjob, but even that...
I think the "Decepticons are MOSTLY military and Autobots are MOSTLY civilian" thing actually works well, fiction-wise. If you go with the Quintesson origin where the origins of the two factions were different product lines, it makes sense that, while the majority of Cybertronians stayed in the...
