For me it's a matter of degree. Stretch/Tux having immigrated from the TF:Animated continuity (where he was given life by an Allspark shard) is an Easter egg that doesn't affect much if anything of Challenge continuity. But then you get.... It's not as though there needs to be a one-plot-twist...
