    Warner Discovery up for sale

Because the people who own it don't want it anymore. There are a lot of things going on here that ought to be regulated against, but letting people sell off possessions they no longer want, generally, probably should remain legal.

Spotted my first AI-generated ad on this very website the other day. At least I bloody well hope it's AI.

Nothing is. Only the rich have rights in this hellscape, and they're not human.

We don't. If we get sick, we just die. There are enough people who don't get sick and die that it's easy to ignore unless it happens to someone that you know. Like car crashes (another thing that's completely avoidable and would not happen in a civilized country).

The Nintendo Thread of Jumping, Slashing, and Home Decorating

I've never played 3, so I don't know how reliant it was on waggle gimmicks. I was under the impression that they just swapped out the dual analogs for some sort of stick-to-move, point-to-aim setup like the Call of Duty ports. Which might have led to a need for more precise aiming, but otherwise...

    Warner Discovery up for sale

That's the central issue with the whole economic system. Competition might be important for driving innovation and ensuring quality control, but all other factors being equal, I think most customers would prefer the convenience of only having one company or service providing everything. Or to...

The Nintendo Thread of Jumping, Slashing, and Home Decorating

On that note, how many of you are still holding out hope that remakes of 2 and 3 are actually forthcoming? I figured if it was ever going to happen, they'd want to get it done in time for the new one.

We live in a capitalist dystopia

Man, remember when it was the Republicans who were trying to block online gambling? Oh, and a reminder that CNN's parent company is being split up and the half that includes CNN is probably going to be bought by the same monster who bought CBS-Paramount and fired Colbert. So uh, look forward to...

    "Gamers say the darnedest things!"

I did have a revelation the other day that maybe one reason YouTube's algorithm hasn't started penalizing people for talking about killing and dying the way, for example, TikTok does, is the sheer volume of popular videos talking about video games.

    AI don't trust techbros

Ha, wait until you find out about the smeghead who bought Commodore this year. Dude's not a billionaire tech-bro but he's got the attitude down pat, promising to singlehandedly turn back the clock on the entire tech industry while also using AI slop in his videos.

It won't. They'll just stop catering to people who can't afford $5000 computers, just like the game industry already did. It's not like us poors were bothering to pay for their jivety software anyway.

    AI don't trust techbros

At this point I'm leaning toward Google having purposely blocked the regular search results from providing what it knows to be the source of the correct answer, to encourage people to trust the AI mode more. I was looking for the source of a quote, and without me putting in who it was from, the...
