I've tried to watch this show 3 times but I have a hard time getting more than a few episodes in. That dad character is the worst and the show feels overly campy even by CW standards. I haven't read any posts in here so as not to be spoiled but does it get better?

Well the best Wish Captain Kirk was played by a guy nobody likes anymore due to real life stuff. Shame he messed so much up for so many people.

Well there's a minor problem with that desire. If they ditched the saucer and did the run in the star drive section you're not watching the Enterprise save the day, you're watching the USS Syracuse save the day. Which would kind off defeat the purpose.

I assume he's just letting us know he has the grit and dedication of an investigative reporter.

Has anyone watched this? I've caught the first four episodes. I went into this completely blind and the trailer reveals more than even knew about going in. It's a very interesting show that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's kind of got "Preacher Lite" vibes in terms of tone.

Until Picard Season 3 SNW was my favorite "new" Trek show, but that guy playing Kirk ranks as one of the worst casting choices ever.

Yeah - this is best in another topic but I was stoked to see them heading off into the unknown parts of space only to turn around and revisit all the jive we already knew about. It was a good season, but would have been super cool to explore.

It shouldn't be that tricky. 90% of encounters from both the TOS and TNG have never been, or needed to be revisited. SNW could meet a dozen new aliens and visit 15 new, undiscovered (at that time) worlds the audience has never seen before and it be perfectly fine. That's probably *better*...
