The DNA kit intrigues me. I hadn't mentioned hands etc specifically because I had already seen them in another kit (that one), but I agree those are useful upgrades. As upgrade bits go I like that DNA's manages to be useful in emulating the old RTS 3P trailer, but more importantly in filling out...
I'm not super bothered by this Breakdown, but I don't think it's entirely unreasonable for people to expect that entire list of things when Hasbro managed it the first three times. (Although only one previous time was a calf.)
Not sure how it compares to Earthrise, but it'd be nice to get some "upgrade kit" parts that let you swap out the hip and thigh fronts parts (which are removable via unscrewing, iirc) for more Scourge-y ones. But that paint job nicely picks out the details that make the hip plate look different...
From a brief glance, I almost wonder if someone might've just painted a Wildrider for a mockup, but those clear windows strongly suggest not.
I'm not going to make any big angry grr Hasbro statements because lol, but it's just... WEIRD that they'd go to all these lengths, commit this hard...
It's certainly welcome. The next preferable step would be new-character redecos.
I wish they'd gone and made that a Night Ops Ratchet, but this will be a good base for a custom.
I've had it happen to a small degree on a copy of ER Bluestreak, but I suppose that's partly due to disassembling and reassembling the thing a few times and moving it around for tape masking (i.e., not ideal use).
Hmmmm.
If the red ends up being that dark/maroonish, this could be interesting.
Although eh. Too many little differences (on top of this being almost more brown than maroon).
Man, the last two posts take you from utter despair over the soulless closest-thing-to-fiction Hasbro gives to this, to such glee at the fun signature bonkersness of Takara stuff.
Vehicles always seem like such a hard sell to me even at regular retail. Even more so with a $350 price tag.
Doesn't help that the early-bird bonus is the blandest one they could've gone with (an unmasked alt head should already be part of this GR's accessory complement by default). I don't...
That gradient on the face is goddamn delicious.
Aside from the kickass Universe nod, and the great color scheme in general, I like how this looks less like the robot mode doing ab wheel workouts. That's been the main holdback for me with Iguanus, who is otherwise a great looking mold.
Saving some money with Reprolabels.
Fortunately Artfire comes with plenty, enough to give him the gaudily-stickered look I've always associated with him and to throw Inferno a few to break up the solid blocks of color. But not too much. Just those front of shoulder panels, the silver on the...
They also recently reissued it in the new plastic-free packaging format.
I'm probably going to get this because Hot Rod, but I'll not rush to it given how much these are going for now. It looks okay, but I'd still rather have any of the other options for it. (and if they were going to hew so...
Yup, there are threads that run through all the episodes with mounting development. It's not negative continuity per se, but it's also not hamstrung by those plot threads -- they're there but they're not the focus. Thus we get to have a roughly case-of-the-week format feel while still having...
