To be fair, WFC Megatron doesn’t look too much like Megatron without the buckethead and armcannon.

The cables and flame-shaped cuffs all over his body would make finding a suitable mold difficult. Impactor’s the only deluxe tank currently available unless they want to dip into the weaponizers. Or Skullgrin I guess.

Wonder how they’ll manage the Seekers. Optimus set the precedent that the fists don’t partsform but the seekers are pretty much all partsforming. If they can pull off a non partsforming transfomation that looks like the old toy inboth modes, that’d be insane.

I just took it as a G1-ified version of the original. All the fibers and braids aren’t consistent with G1 which looked more like sheets of metal in the approximate shape of facial hair. Or since they mentioned that they based Thundertron more off concept art than the Prime toy, maybe it was on...

They probably planned to release just the retail version at first and later came up with this version when Walmart requested an exclusive and they decided on the Star Seeker theme. Why it’s super similar is probably because Thundertron only has one visual appearance to draw from.

This appears to be a “cartoon colors” version like ML Convoy had but even then, the precedent set is that sticker detail is sculpted in so it fails in that regard.
