I'm totally fine with the Bay movies feeling as distinct from any of those as they feel from each other (Unicron Trilogy, in retrospect, was the perfect bridge away from G1 to a space where even newer and more different possibilities are just as valid). They were just by and large terribly...
I do see your point. It would have been nice to get something bigger that was fresh or new. Each new piece of media adds something to what's come before, and that something is what I've come to look for (indeed, it's been a salve for the lack of quality at times).
And i guess there IS some, in...
KOs like these were all over the place at the time, iirc, and so Sky Garry is always behind the 8-ball for me. It took a while before I began associating the design with Transformers at all. While he looks great in robot mode (this is one of those that was clearly designed as a flourish-loaded...
The Variety article I saw the China opening news in clocked TF One as making $5 million -$8 million in China over the week.
I agree that the film industry as a whole is still struggling in this new post-pandemic climate. The concerns for infection are firmly in the rear-view mirror in most...
It seems to be doing okay in China (was released last week, outdid a bunch of other movies including The Wild Robot), and will hold some screens through this holiday weekend. I think it follows the trend of being the lowest debut for a Transformers film though.
I think I've seen this on some website, yeah. What was it? "Wrecked"?
On that note, yikes, I've never seen those Siege barrels look so phallic. This head-on (ahem) view really recontextualizes those nubs on either side...
I could have done with seeing a BM Skydive based Wingfinger and maybe a clear green one before losing these. And I wish we'd gotten more Modulator molds (not just redecos of the same), but since they ditched Micromasters, I guess that's not likely.
I'm warming to that color scheme on Bludgeon, but if I can only have one (which is likely) I may go with the single release one. Idk though.
Great group shots!
Honestly having it come out in 2024 at all is kind of impressive since it was announced (with a cast and release date) only toward the end of April last year.
Hell. Someone else at Hasbro should have said no. But definitely the studio, who should know about this sort of thing, should have been as far as it got.
Ffs it's just not getting through. There's a million other things they could release or announce or whatever on any of those anniversary...
Yeah, I mean we have decades and decades of precedent identifying ideal release windows for these things. It doesn't make sense to buck that trend, especially now when what studios want is as sure a thing as they can get, for one sentimentally relevant date or another that won't move the needle...
I think they all saw how wild people went for a robot that turned into a Walmart exclusive rectangle that came with other rectangles, and decided to go for broke with a giant cube.
That, or CoffeeHorse finally got that blackmail material on the Transformers team he was looking for.
Either...
Well, great job, buddy, you got it your way and met a totally arbitrary anniversary date.
Tell the board how important that is when they ask why this movie didn't make the millions it could have.
Now I'm REALLY thinking about selling my Deathsaurus. "Stupid huge" in every sense of the term. It's a very cool design and I love that they threw everything into it, but it's pointless to display among anything else.
Ffs please tell me they don't plan on making Titan class Star Convoy this...
Oh, Nonnef is amazing. Definitely one of the things I need that money for -- to arm my coneheads, give my van guys better feet, etc.
On the subject of Nonnef, the shop got hit pretty hard by the hurricane, iirc (shop's offline until further notice). I hope everyone's okay.
