Making all of them Primes all traces back to the naming of Vector Prime and his lack of carrying a/the Matrix, years before the 2007 movie's success kicked off the Binder's development. Forest Lee then took the idea of all Thirteen being Primes and then ran with it in the early Fun Pub comics.

Having read the Binder, it's clear that Hasbro really was riding the high of the 2007 movie and all the money it made, as so much of the Binder's lore was written with the idea of that movie being the foundational cornerstone that the entire "Modern Continuity" (as the Binder referred to it more...
