I have the opposite preference for some reason. Idk if I only ever caught episodes where he was colored a bright sky blue or the mental image I have is of a generic, heh. But cartoon Thundercracker to me has always been light blue, despite rewatches proving that incorrect.

Obnoxious is the word. The recent face switching Mighty Muggs had a similar vibe. (Although that had some decent ones.) It's an odd graffiti stylizing ish look that doesn't quite hit and instead lands somewhere in weird Dreamworks face territory.
