Yeah, this is definitely the most (for lack of a better word) "mature" storytelling in terms of character and world-building that we've had in a Digimon anime since Tamers (though, Appmon also came pretty close). And even compared to that, Beatbreak feels like the least toyetic a Digimon anime...

This reminds me that, to this day, I remain surprised that Japan has never given another animal-themed Convoy character the name "Wild Convoy". Not even in the recent Wild King series.
