I regret not buying Megabolt Megatron, despite seeing him several times at a KayBee Toys store during that era. If only current me could talk to 20-year-old me, there's quite a few figures I passed over then that I would have bought if I knew then what I know now...

You know, with the prominent 5mm port on the roof, if I get this iteration of Bee, instead of Devastation Bee, he's going to be Targetmaster Bumblebee. Just need to find an appropriate weapon buddy for him...

A quick check of the Wiki seems to indicate that most of the Selects sets of Deluxe and/or larger figures (not counting sets of Micromasters, etc) were 2-packs or 3-packs, with the only real exception being the Autobot 5-pack. Meanwhile, Target has had 4 different 4-packs since Legacy; it's not...

In all fairness, nearly every other multi-pack has been a Target exclusive, so it wasn't that far off the mark.

This reminds me, is there any stated connection between Shockwave and Amalgamous? Given their heads share similar design cues, I'm curious if that's intentional, or they were just going with a more alien and robotic design for Amalgamous and the similarity to Shockwave is just happenstance?

Transformers: Age of the Primes Thread: ll First Post All Listings II Update : April 12th, 2027 Bonus Wave: Repaint fun, Beast Wars, G2, Machine Wars

Since my Victory figures include Kabaya Deathsaurus and Road Ceasar, the KO Liokaiser with the Doubledealer-Hellbat arm, and a KO of Robotmasters Victory Saber, Dinoking is decently-sized. Now, if I figure in the Destron Liokaiser set and Haslab Liokaiser when I get him, then, yeah, Dinoking is...

While I recognize that there are a lot of deep cuts that we probably wouldn't get at Core/Legends scale, the proliferation of 3rd party lines in Legends and even Micromaster scale would indicate that there is demand for smaller Transformers figures. Now, we could argue about how Hasbro handled...

I mean, the price point died, sure, but I would pay Voyager or Leader class prices for sets of 2 or 3 core-scale dudes that go together, like the Seekers. Or battle packs. Core-scale battle packs would rock, too.

If SS wanted to redo the Seekers, they could bring back the Core scale and do a set of Coneheads, Rainmakers, Sunstorm, etc at that size...

If ever you have call to go the Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio (hopefully nothing serious), and have some time to kill, take a trip down to the cafeteria on the ground level. Compared to the modern upper levels, the halls on the ground floor have a very backrooms feel, with greenish...

RiD01 Ultra Magnus is roughly the right shape, isn't it? At the very least, he might be a similar type of truck? An actual Dekotora transformer with faux lights (not sure I'd wanna pay the upcharge for working lights and sounds) and wild paint would be brilliant, though!

The Kaiju Thread of Building-Smashing, Flame-Breathing, and Slam-Dunking

Yeah, 98 Godzilla is canonically a mutated iguana. Like CoffeeHorse said, it's a valid kaiju story, but it definitely did not go the typical Godzilla routes.

The Kaiju Thread of Building-Smashing, Flame-Breathing, and Slam-Dunking

Yeah, "Godzilla's Revenge" is not for the weak. It's like Home Alone, but with kaiju mascots giving the "Kevin" character ideas. And, yeah, the Japanese version is better, but the dub gives us "Don Knotts Minilla" and lines like "Godzilla's the one with the bad breath!"...

The Kaiju Thread of Building-Smashing, Flame-Breathing, and Slam-Dunking

Yeah. "Mothra" and "Godzilla vs Mothra" '64 explore some themes of commercial exploitation, "Godzilla vs Hedorah" has a heavy anti-pollution message, and "Godzilla's Revenge" is a treatise on the plight of latchkey children in an increasingly modernizing Japan, but none of these handle the...

    Takara Missing Link G1 Series

I haven't got mine yet, but I've got Prototype Arcee in my Pile Of Loot at BBTS. Would rather have the colors of Cartoon Arcee, but I feel like the head design of the Prototype is more accurate to what would have come out in 86-87, and she'll fit better with my vintage movie-era bots.
