I cannot wrap my head around how one would even think up such an idea when Sheik explains how the sword's mechanism of time travel works. The sword not being able to let Link return to the past "just because" feels like another one of those unsubstantiated what-if scenarios, as in, "What if the...
With this in mind, imagine if they had released the Legacy Skyquake toy with G1 Skyquake's colors as the default release of Legacy Skyquake, complete with the "Prime Universe Skyquake" label that it was marketed as.
You desire a more G1-colored Skyquake because the Legacy Prime Universe...
In Hasbro's minds, Legacy Skyquake likely represents both G1 and Prime Skyquake, hence why they made the mold a mashup design.
But, your desire for a G1 Skyquake version of the mold tells me that you don't agree with that notion, which further proves my point about how that mold had a...
Just so long as it's done right without any compromised designs like the aforementioned Legacy Skyquake/Dreadwing mold being the secret lovechild between G1 Skyquake and the Prime twins, looking just enough like both to be too unique to properly and faithfully resemble either with some kind of...

Well, that would make it box-art-accurate. A win-win scenario would be if they gave it a retractable mouthplate a la Cybertron Optimus. I always headcanon'd that Machine Wars Optimus had one so as to explain the discrepancy between the mouthplated box art and the mouthplate-less toy.
Yeah, it was definitely a Thunder Clash homage, right down to the wing design on the top of the cab.
He's also more "gray Optimus" than "blue Optimus":
Come to think of it, Thunder Clash wasn't dull gray, but Machine Wars Optimus was, so it's a dual-homage deco to both.
Faithfulness to the original shells?
'Course, I can't see many actually wanting that, given how the original shells decayed over time the way they did.
In that case, we might as well just abandon the forum's thread structure and all head over to the Allspark's Discord toy channel. One big happy dump. :p
