I am considering looking into an Astrotrain now, tbh. Just not a priority because I have the Siege one and there's so much else to get through first.

Sandstorm I was glad to double dip on (still keeping my T30), and was really good. Clever design updates, and even the mostly superfluous cage accessory is worked in well and doesn't really take away from how good the robot and both modes are. He also has the benefit of no longer being hamstrung...

All I know is the Defender is the smallest, chibi style subline, about 2 inches. Galaxy is the "standard" size (I have this impression because I think this is the size that has the most waves so far) of 4 or 5 inch ones, some of those light up. And everything else is big big big.

I've never looked at it closely, just in occasional pics in image searches, but MFT's Iron Sky has always seemed like a good take.

Funny, I was just thinking that (about Blitzwing) after I made that post. Like, update the proportions and closeness to the models and whatnot, and use some newer engineering tricks (so not EXACTLY Missing Link), but there are generally ways to make something based on the older transformation...

There we go. I knew it wasn't a caboose but I couldn't remember what it was, so I just went with the funny word.

That might've done a bit better if they weren't so gung ho on making the tank visibly echo the compromise of having a lovely hidden jet cockpit. And if they hadn't spent however much on giving him a pair of Hulk hands. Even then, at least the robot mode on that was solid. I'm sticking with the...

Siege was actually pretty decent considering a chunk of its budget went to the weapons cache caboose. Man, that era's gimmick for Leaders (which reached Legacy with Blitzwing) could not be dropped fast enough. Stege detailing aside, it's a bit squat and the rear half of the shuttle is weirdly...

Other pics I've seen recently show that apparently the train mode has space in it to hold... stuff, whatever. Which is neat, but it's unfortunate that that was a design priority. To me, that's definitely not worth any of these compromises. Even outside of the "screen accuracy" line it's a bit...

At least they had the sense not to run with a grayscaled one. Yikes.

The less glossy finish in neutral light looks amazing.

That's still not as dumb as a friend of mine who turned his nose up at GENE SPLICE... because he would have preferred that Cyclops say JEAN GREY. (For a lark, I rewatched an episode of M.A.S.K. recently, and was reminded that -- To Sell Toys -- they called out the names of the masks each time...

Discourse around a thing changes with time, due to a number of factors. The people talking grow and change, the media and the nature of the topic (characters, franchise, etc) changes. There was a time when THE prevailing opinion was that Daniel and Wheelie should be mocked at every turn, and it...

(Please forgive the title edit; I tweaked it a little so the pleasant circumstances of the call for appreciation were more foregrounded.) Thank you very much for making this thread. I am very glad to have a positive occasion/reason to fondly remember an icon; it's been a rough few months for...

No, I'm also agreeing with you, the texture is not inviting. It doesn't even look dry, although it probably is.

There's something about this design and those specific colors. If not for the flared eyelash bits on the eyeball shoulders (and I guess the shoulders themselves), it would feel even more like either a LEGO vehicle or a Diaclone revival design. It's kind of quietly impressive how much of a...

Well, that's nifty. Also, I'm glad it's Six-Gun and Slammer, but now I'm wondering if the Armorizers would look good in clear plastic too...

Yeah, it's a bit disappointing (although there's every possibility of a fun surprise, especially with the Weaponizers. If THOSE are clear plastic weapons bases, ooooh). Especially given the previous Walmart capsules (Cybertron, Star Raiders, Toxitron) were pretty cool.
