But that likely IS the problem. Not that they can't use the name Battersea because it's trademarked, but rather that they want to be able to trademark the name of the pretend robot, but they can't if it's just named after the public-domain-type name of the thing it turns into.
I would buy the hell out of a Titan-class Transformer that actually turned into the Battersea station.
If it didn't come with a little pig Minicon, though, it would be a wasted opportunity.
I actually love it. I like robot beasts, and a whale is something we've never had in non-organic flavor. I love the cannon mouth, the Shockwave mono-eye, the scuba-esque details on the robot head. I'm a big fan.
Yes, but I fell into the trap of thinking he was pretty mediocre until I learned how to use him properly. I can see how a lot of people got that same bad first impression.
I have a KO Device Label, and it's my main Ravage. It's a joy to transform and to pose.
But yeah, Masterpiece is the only version that transforms from good-looking tape to good-looking jaguar. I understand that it'd be too fiddley and delicate if shrunk down, but it would be a good starting...
Like a lot of SS 86 figures, it's better than my current Soundwave, but not THAT much better. Ravage is a mixed bag. 90% of him is a HUGE improvement over the existing recent molds, but the little hump on his butt with with the missiles is a bit of a letdown. Curious if that's built into him...
Nune over at TFW2005 has posted the first pictures of Studio Series 86 Soundwave along with Buzzsaw, Laserbeak, and Ravage mini-cassettes. All are brand-new molds as opposed to remolds/repaints of the existing figures. See the gallery below for images of all four figures in both modes...
As an engineer that works in pneumatic machinery, I can confirm. And, if I do say so myself, it is a huge upgrade over his previous clockwork-style actuators.
