I like it, but then I love love live the Junkion Cadet molds and want so, so many redecos. Meanwhile, Cannonball looks good but this is what, the sixth use of that mold? Hope he's not as flippy-floppy and fally-aparty as Medix. AND AND AND I really need to see Thundertron compared to the...

It's based on his The War Within design, and a lot of the TWW designs were bulkier and beefier than the "normal" G1 bodies. #TheMoreYouKnow

I saw Wain Computer Panel open for Felly Shage Turn at the Tiplorry in 1997. Seriously, though, the Engrish was always a highlight of the KOs of yesteryear.

I do want a capsule of "guys in other guys' bodies but their own colors," but that's not what I meant. The other weird thing I totally forgot about was that mold's hammer was based on Breakdown's to begin with. It aaalmost looks like a joke that someone then took seriously.

Good, I wasn't just misremembering. I also didn't remember how long ago that leak was. Breakdown and that mold are an odd combo. I mean, I don't know what recent toys would be better for Breakdown, but if Breakdown wasn't their first choice, I can see it.

Oh, absolutely. Devastator isn't known for mixing and matching like the Scramble City guys. I just think it's fun, and like I said, it'd be nice if the arms were compatible with an older torso.

They're their own thing, yeah, but then the Core Dinobots came along. My point was mostly that the 5mm system-- which I love-- would be suboptimal for anything bigger.

I don't mean to go on a rant, but... [Narrator: lolololol] I'm just frustrated that almost every time there's a new combiner, it's a new system. Just recently-ish we've had Combiner Wars, two different Devastators, Motormaster, and the 5mm system used by Volcanicus and the...

BM Cheetor had a Happy Meal toy: (stolen from TFwiki): (Hopefully someone will provide a side-by-side after this hits mass retail, for the size comparison if nothing else.)

I'm curious about the connection scheme for 86 Devastator. It'd be nice if at least the arms were swappable with another combiner, but I'm expecting another unique system.

That's actually a good point. They never dwelled on it in the fiction (that I recall), and later series generally made it more intentional, but as presented in MTMTE, yeah, it sure is a coincidence everyone matched so well. It would be fun for a What If? toyline to really explore that-- keep...

Tangentially, Wheejack's Cybertronian altmode never made sense to me in the context of everyone else's matching their Earth mode pretty well. ("Everyone else" being like four guys, admittedly.) Storywise, I guess Wheeljack makes more sense in that scene than Ironhide or Ratchet or whoever, but...

That new batch of Mini-Cons just after Cybertron proper was clearly designed by a different team than the AEC ones. They were a bit smaller, a little thinner (though part if that was FINALLY BEASTS). The PCC ones, though, were great, as was Centuritron, so, uh, idk.

It's been noted (a while back) that all Scorponoks have basically the same transformation. I guess that's not true anymore.
