They're giving the Ohnos a chrome upgrade.

I definitely think that the surge over the last few days was driven by his passing and possibly the advertising from Secret Galaxy. It's sad to think had he not passed that it may have been more likely to fail. Even sadder that he is no longer here to see it likely succeed.
Watched the new Samurai Troopers. Way more violent than the original. Interesting and different premise. Action is great. Looking forward to more. Main guy is definitely a lot different than Ryo. Great villain designs. Very excited.
Fits the aesthetic and honestly looks like the animation to me. Which I give the animation credit for. You can see the individual robots go from the more shapely forms to the blocky combined mode limbs. This definitely takes that form above all else.
It works as a vintage style toy with a...
Typically. It's been suggested (by me and others) that they may want to reach out to BBTS or the like to see if they have interest in purchasing a large amount. Which they are looking into.
I got both, but honestly, if I were to get only one it would have been the orange one. As that's the color scheme this figure was originally shown with. Even if it didn't come out in those colors, for whatever reason, it was the original intention.
The animation one uses the near final...
What about the transformation seems off? The swing bar that moves her legs up? I could see that but they also had to make something that never transformed transform while keeping as much of the look of the two disparate things still work in real life.
I watched this when it premiered and showed it to a bunch of friends shortly thereafter. I've been semi obsessed with it for a while. Hot Toys teased 1/6 figures. I'm seriously considering them.

Yeah, this is extremely accurate to what was going to originally come out. From what I can tell, they mostly improved the head sculpts a little but as well as the transformation. Still mostly 1980's goodness with a couple of improvements.
I also wouldn't think too much about the difference in...
Some sad news, Albert, the person who started the Kickstarter unfortunately passed away a few days ago. The rest of the Mighty Orbots Kickstarter team is committed to seeing this through without him. Hoping that Albert gets his wish and it meets its goal.
Put some comparison shots of them together and tried to list out all the changes. For the original versions, I tried to use TakaraTomy official photography for a more apt comparison.
Skywarp:
- Black plastic and paint are replaced with charcoal gray plastic and paint
- Warm purple is replaced...
I will definitely get two. There is a possibility as well.
Bombshell already kind of does that when he's not exactly cartoon colors. Hasbro's half measure with the purple chest but cartoon colored head, makes him deviate too much that you might as well go full cartoon and make him gray as well.
