Hasbr-uh-oh - Business and Tariffs Discussion

I miss the Hub. It started out so hopeful, and that would be really nice right now.

Honestly, for me, 1980s Toei animation is comfy and the degraded masters only add to it somehow. I swear, crisp quality would hurt the vibe.

I hope Beast Machines is a heavy inspiration. The concept was good.

Sadly those may legitimately be the best images Hasbro has. Show accuracy is the name of the game these days, but the animation is way too inconsistent to be useful, and there's no fan-colored character models they can mistakenly use.

It seems they're still using the old Dreamwave profiles for their reference images. Oh well.

Nobody does combining robots like Takara. Any other company would have skipped the trick of giving the super mode bigger feet, or would have included a set of larger feet that you swap out with Jetfire's smaller but transformable feet.

We are looking at a much more complicated transformation than the original. I'm not sure I've totally worked it out yet. There's some necessary stuff, like Jetfire's arms are connected to the wings now, because they need to move to a different spot, because those working super mode legs take all...

Generations 2027: No More Primes! It is the Age of Evolution!

I want to believe that's exactly what happened, and it's possible. We have a brand team that has exactly that kind of energy, and we have a CEO who has expressly challenged all brand teams to have a "Just do it" approach if they think they have a viable idea. This is a potentially dangerous...

So basically, Age of the Primes is being followed by Age of the Megatrons.

Definitely. That's the inventory investors have been whining about for years. The warehouses are stuffed. And this is what Hasbro means when they keep trying to explain it's good quality inventory and people need to stop panicking. These "reissues" have a market. Somebody will buy them.

There's no chance in a million years that this current Transformers team would skip the pants mode. Also the super mode hips are visible in shuttle mode.

If I financially survive my latest city issues I am buying Jetfire and the Prime reissue, even if Jetfire's pants mode hasn't been revealed by then. I trust that they gave it the treatment it deserves.

I'm optimistic. These look bad to me, to a degree that makes me suspect something was deliberately prioritized over their looks. Stability would make sense.

I'll be honest. This looks rough. But I'm confident there's reasons for it. Considering how widely people complained about the Requiem Blaster falling apart, veering in the opposite direction is a reasonable choice. And I'm betting Jetfire's proportions are optimized for pants mode. If so...

    Studio Series discussion

Not wowed by anything here. Prime probably looks a lot better when transformed properly. It does raise my hopes for a redo of his 2007-2011 design, because the proportions here do look incredibly close.
