I know why Menasor was done that way. But now that he's out as the Legacy-era combiner template, the question is how future combiners will be implemented.
Superion generally wasn't quite so much a robot with planes hanging off his limbs, but next year's Superion appears to be a similar set of...
I like the G1 boxes well enough as a fallback option, especially for collabs that are rooted in the 80s, but boxes like the ones for Draculus and Frankentron really stand out to me.
Supposedly they said he's about the same size as Menasor. I'm certainly curious to see how they handle him. I can't see the same sort of frame setup working for the feet, especially Scrapper. I could see them including some sort of frame that Hook and Long Haul plug into, and that the others...
The gray Nemesis chair is a bit odd, but the fact that they're calling it the first item in a throne collection has me oddly intrigued. Between the Nemesis chair being used as a throne for Megatron and Deathsaurus getting his throne, I'd actually love to get a series of thrones for all the...
He looks a lot better than I really expected him to. The new hands and feet help a lot, but there's more to it than that. It just really works surprisingly well.
Despite that, I still have little interest in buying him. CW Liokaiser isn't exactly great, but at least he looks decent alongside...
I don't really follow PR stuff much, but got curious about Lightning Collection and ZAP earlier. I know I'd heard that Lightning Collection was supposed to be on hold this year. Has there been any news about the line resuming at some point? And any news at all on ZAP in particular? I'm not...
I don't have any trouble with any one of his weapons, but he has so many weapons that I find I have to be careful about where I grab him to avoid knocking one off. Nothing I'd describe as a fault in the toy, but still a bit irritating to deal with.
I do find that, even though the katanas should...
It's not like every continuity was like Sunbow, with Megatron trying to kill Optimus at their first meeting. I believe Marvel UK had them knowing each other as rival gladiators. I remember G2 having Optimus muse about how he'd always hoped Megatron could be brought to work for the good of...
Also, stuff like this:

makes me think it's less that it was a throwaway line that snuck in, and more an idea that got cut down late in the process, ending up with just the one line left in the final movie. Kind of like how DotM was supposed...
I do realize that, and I'm certainly not trying to argue any of it. I've already lamented how HasLab Omega Prime is gigantic purely so RiD Ultra Magnus can carry deluxe cars around. I understand why both Magnuses are the size they are. Doesn't mean I personally like it in either case. To each...
I remember Galvatron only being maybe half a head taller than Rodimus, and a quick image search seems to back that up. But still, fair point. Galvatron is already taller regardless.
But in a world where SS86 Magnus is bigger than the Dinobots and SS86 Springer is half a head taller than Siege...
I hate the size. Not so much that he's bad in and of himself, or that he will look bad with select bots. It's that this is going to set off a whole chain reaction with other characters. Undoubtedly, Megatron and Galvatron will be at this new height. And then new toys will have to be scaled...
Inexplicable from looking at the original toy, but not from looking at the cartoon that this is trying to adhere to so closely. That's just what cartoon Optimus looks like. It's why they did the same thing with MP-44.

He's half the price of the non-transforming figure he's based on. Doesn't include all the upgrade parts, but still so much cheaper than I'd been afraid he would be. I'm downright delighted at the price. Got my preorder in at Amazon right away.
Going to have to figure out a way to squeeze him...
Assuming SS86 Megatron turns out well, I'd love to see a reformatting version of him down the road as well. I've never done dioramas, but that progression could earn a place on a shelf somewhere.
