What stupid thing did the GOP say or do this time? Episode 3!

That's all anyone has ever meant by it. No one batted an eye at Lucille Ball being married to a Puerto Rican back in the '50s, and that's when they did bat an eye at a married couple sharing a bed!

Unfortunately that just means they've already moved on to the "replace him with someone just as evil but actually competent" phase of the long-term plan.

Oh, he won't actually bother to start a party; he'll just demand to be on the ballot under either "The Trump Party" or just independent without bothering to do more than the minimum requirement of paperwork. And then the most well-funded of his allies who lost the primary will follow suit. I...

And then that becomes the catalyst for the surviving Republicans (in coalition with any MAGA Party members who actually make it in, which I'd expect to see a roughly equal number of actually) begging for more states to switch to ranked-choice ballots. The question is whether the Democrats will...

Watch Jeff Bezos end up buying it and merging it with Rivian. The upside is that it'll probably get that dumb Cybertruck canceled.

Hanlon's razor notwithstanding, I think we're at the point where we should look into just what Musk stands to gain if Twitter completely shuts down. Like, is he personally getting paid by the Mastodon people, that sort of thing.

I wouldn't discount the value of either side having one more in their corner even if it doesn't change who has a simple majority—one of those Democrats is still Chuck Schumer, after all.

    P&R Funnies!

I call BS on that; Scrooge McDuck is one of the three pillars propping up the idea that rich people are capable of not being evil in the minds of the public—alongside Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark. And frankly, he's doing more heavy lifting than the other two combined in the likability department.

Elon is running Twitter exactly how I would expect its average user would, honestly: assuming that it's already such a hellsite that nothing anyone could do would make it any worse.

I popped in to check on the status of the undetermined zones and... there are some interesting things going on in Alaska. Thanks to the specific way they've implemented their ranked-choice ballot system, both the House and Senate races have multiple Republicans in them, with wildly different...

Oh yes, yes, please, Republicans, waste the next two years trying things that won't get off the ground and will just piss off everyone in the meantime. I would love nothing more, save for maybe all of Washington getting crushed by an asteroid.

    Iran. Nuff said.

Considering they've already escalated to the "round up and murder literally everyone who complains" stage, I don't think a much larger timescale is an option anymore. That's the point where your only option is to start murdering them back, immediately, just out of self defense if nothing else.

Fivethirtyeight ran an editorial suggesting, among other things, that the Republicans underperformed due to how many rookies they had on the ballot, which got me to thinking... you know how every single one of the Republicans who voted to impeach Trump either quit, got primaried out, or didn't...

    Iran. Nuff said.

There aren't many countries left in the modern world with a weak enough military to be toppled by a revolution, I'd wager. And I don't pay enough attention to world events to know if Iran is one of them, but I wouldn't have bet money on it.
