If you look at the Monster Hunter one, which is about $50 for JUST a deluxe; a Deluxe and Core at that price is pretty good.

Everything connects, but isn't required; Each comic is its own self contained story. The only series that might be important to TF is Cobra Commander's Miniseries. And the Free Comic Book Day issue. But those still aren't required to understand anything in the main TF book.

Considering their track record, Battlecat would just be a repainted/remolded Tigertron.
