I’m not sure replacing the skates would be enough. There’s like, four or five likely points of failure on the current design. They’d probably have to design new ones that fill in the gaps regardless of the hit to accuracy or make them out of die-cast. Even then I’d be leery because with the...
It certainly has less crap hanging off the bottom but it’s still going to be thick and stubby. Between the hassle of dealing with pins and the end result requiring ridiculous partsforming, you’d be better off coming to terms that anything replicating G1 Blitzwing is going to have a jive jet mode
TM1 Megatron as a design is fairly hard to hug up but these geniuses managed it. Like, I get having a large "beast mode" tail and a smaller "weapon" tail but why would you make it that you can't use one of them in either mode and have to swap it out when you transform? Beast Wars toys had so...
If they were like the legends one that turned into a complete skeleton to complete robot they’d be better overall. They’re pretty lame weapons and the beast Wars toys, the ones they’d be most fitting with, don’t even have the appropriate ports
Thestyracosaurus/triceratops fossilizer is definitely the worst one. You can make a coolsword with the T-rex and a crossbow with the pteranodon but there's just no way to make decent weapons with the ceratoprsian mold.
I come here for Transformers. With the tailend of IDW1 being either self-indulgent tripe or trojan horses for garbo Hasbro IP I don't give a jive about, the TV shows being targeted to younger audiences with jive toys, Generations devolving to G1 with knees, IDW2 being color-by-number generic TF...
While the transformation "skeleton" could work, we haven't seen as many extensive retools in recent lines, mostly just alternate heads/weapons. Seems to be a different approach to reusing molds as compared to CW/TR/POTP.
Not having to fit a giant chunk of motor in its body probably helps with that.
Adding a bigass unwieldy asymmetric gun assembly should probably fix the lack of Zoids ness
Movie Devastator colors would be interesting on a G1 mold. Probably end up looking more like the standard mis-matched colors scramble combiners but interesting nonetheless.
The local Legacy price hike was terrible no doubt, but it was so terrible that I was expecting the worst for the “exclusive” mark up.
At least some specialty stores are selling the things at less egregious prices, though we don't know for how much longer.
It’s a modern chunky Ironhide cosplaying as the comparatively thin G1 model but that it doesn’t partsform, hides the feet better than Earthrise and looks pretty tidy is impressive.
TBH, it’s a relatively small premium over the regular releases. Of course, this is on top of the price hike going into Legacy but less than I expected given previous exclusives
