Their Nova Prime had a rough development from what the release date and general half-bakedness of the mold tell us.
I can’t think of a bigger way to miss the point of Studio Series than:
1. Dinobots in designs they never had in-game
2. At an undersized scale
3. Making non-dinosaur Dinobots when...
They did another Menasor just because CW Menasor was so bad. I can see them making another Devastator that's less gigantic a few years down the line. They'll also be out of relevant character in a couple of lines.
If they intend to keep making game toys, they'll have to start stepping on 3P...
The pink truck window and the pattern on the pecs say it’s supposed to be Scourge though the homage is a bit weak given the base mold’s lack of particularly scourgey details.
Not enthused by the Nemesis Prime colors but I wouldn't hate it if it was the version I end up with. I've grown to dislike white plastic over the past few years and it's a really nice albeit overused color scheme.
I don't know why Optimus usually tugging around a big box doesn't wow me but this...
The core bot is a solid, simple design that looks great and has enough articulation to do Ginyu Force poses and that plays up the modularity aspect to its maximum, I don't mind them getting use out of it, though I wish they’d release something about their Night Raven seeker or Hungrr. That said...
Given how they engineered a flight mode that isn’t just Optimus playing Superman, tabs on the sides of the wheel to go into the slots in his palms he uses to hold his gun would have been quick enough to do.
It does improve on all four modes aesthetically. Transformation didn't need to be particularly complex but eh.
Also a nitpick but while OpOp always had a truck mode that was the robot mode using an exercise wheel, this one's hands don't peg in anywhere and just float in the approximate area to...
I bought a knockoff of Perfect Effect's Optimal Optimus. I sold off the original but you know what, for $60, various merchant coupons, a tiny ape minion and in black, I'll bite.
I like it except for the big decepticon symbols on the tank mode and to a lesser extent, robot mode. I'd prefer these sort of crossover things to be their own thing rather than shoehorned into the factions and it's harder to ignore when they take up half the altmode.
Might wait for a sale or...
Mold release is largely silicon-based lubricant. That would explain oily residue but not the white powdery stuff which is in clumps rather than a layer over the toy.
Any official word from Hasbro or Amazon on this?
Molds don't feed off plastic itself, it's more of just growing on it. Fungi need something organic to feed off, so it could be plastic additives used in manufacturing, stray skin cells or skin oil from the factory workers, bacterial growth or contact with dirty water at some point of...
They were definitely contaminated at the factory, otherwise you'd expect the boxes to have the mold growth. Fungal spores are everywhere in minute amounts but generally don't develop into mold unless conditions are favorable. That there are multiple toys presenting with mold growth suggests very...
Cancel your orders, send those back or eat the loss and get into contact with professionals to dispose of them. Even the ones without visible growth can be contaminated with spores or have growth inside the hollow parts, joints etc. Another nobody seeker repaint isn’t worth a possible biohazard.
