The craziest bit is that this Optimus design isn’t even all that complex conceptually. Aside from the usual Optimus design problem of handling the grill/abs, all the major truck parts show up on the robot mode more or less untouched.
I thought the armor thing had too much black. This helps the g1 accuracy but jetfire’s destined to be a sea of white. Wish the armor at least exposed the cockpit. Really needs his antennae too.
My main issue is that the fights were mostly their ridiculously elaborate suits standing around and firing beams at each other. I don't expect much plot from this type of movie and certain levels of schlock. That said, I did enjoy them more than the Millennium era movies which were wildly...
Yeah but it doesn't make sense that the more powerful form was smaller. Then again, little about Godzilla vs King Ghidorah made any sense IIRC. Writer watched Terminator unsubbed, translated it through his sleep-deprived workaholic Japanese brain, then thought he was cooking.

None of us really understood scale so we had nonsense like Ghidorah shrinking to around half size when he gets mechanized. We also never got the garuda to attach to Mechagodzilla. Gigan was really interesting as a fully organic stylized version of the original.
only problem I have with them is...
I'm not the biggest Goji fan but Hiya toys making the Heisei era Godzilla figures at decent prices really drew me back in. Reminds me of when me and my cousins used to play with the Trendmasters action figures.

Cybertronian aesthetic aside, something about the vehicle mode seems unfinished. Every section is a different width and nothing flows into the next area well.
Worked on soundwave today. Filed down the insides of his shoulder to prevent the weird springing motion it caused. Painted in the missing red and black details. Considering replacing some gray with silver but eh not right now
I tightened up the tabs on the connectors with some floor polish and that worked to keep them together. Not that they were coming apart but it is certainly more secure after the floor polish. The wings are indeed janky but floor polish helped with that too.
