While the robot modes look pretty good. Optimus more than Starscream, as he ends looking way to spindly. The Ox and Cart mode just… doesn’t work in my brain. I love the idea of feudal era Transformers. But the execution just doesn’t sell it to me. I mean, they aren’t bad, just not for me...
Outback looks amazing! That‘s more retooling than I expected. Plus the new head looks great. And Wheelie is… unexpected. I wonder if, since this is in the Retro, Hasbro might actually do Wild Boy repaint of tjis.
Also, this might be the first Wheelie figure I ever buy.
Also also, give in to...
I like the fact that this mechawhalewave isn’t just regular bot mode Shocky either. I mean, he’s still recognisably Shockwave, but modified and stylized to fit the new look.
It kindof reminds me of how Shockwave was heavily stylized for his Hearts of Steel Ironclad Battleship form. Not as heavy...
For me, he just looks ‘off’ to me. The gun and shoulder cannon look both chunky and squished at the same time. The tape door looks…um, too big. There’s a lot to like, but .
The birds looks decent, but Ravage to me does not look great. However, perhaps more pictures, when they come, will help.
Roller: Hey, welcome to the Companion Club PB.
Powered Buggy: Glad to be here. Though I’m still waiting on my big moment.
Roller: Ah… Yeah, about that…
Now this looks good!
Other than Prime, this is probably the one Missing Link figure I want. Well, this and any hypothetical Powered Convoy repaint in the future.
Agreed. Especially since the initial listing leak for said figures showed them in Rise packaging. Meaning that these had been in development almost as long as the initial game.
Relics indeed.
That’s the worst part really. While Studio Series dips into the WFC/FOC and Devastation designs. Those four figures will likely be all we ever see. Rise/Reactivate certainly had a lot of potential.
I mean, unless the do see the potential of delving into the concepts, like the Hearts of Steel...
I definitely agree on Prime needed more paint, and metallic specifically. Of the four, Soundwave is probably the weakest. It’s a toss up between Bee and Screamer on who’s better. With Prime on top. You’re probably right on the twopacks being a way to sell all four molds.
However, it is sad to...
Soundwave is another mold that, even if it was planned as a deluxe all along, it feels like a Voyager crammed into a deluxe, while also having to look as much like G1 Soundwave as possible. It both looks cool, while looking super skinny and hunchbacked. If they’d chosen to stylise the chest door...
I’m still kinda surprised that Hasbro hasn’t released the other three Rise/Reactivate figures from the two, packs as individual releases like Bumblebee. Prime, Screamer and Soundwave were pretty good figures.
Here’s hoping at some point. Seeing this initial trailer really does make it sad how...
I mean, since it was (at leadt at one point) the Quintessons as the main threat, drone swarms kinda make sense. Generic sure, but you’ve gotta have something to kill, since there’s only so many named baddies you could kill before you run out of guys to smash. Clone fodder is pretty much a...
Indeed. It‘s going to be a fascinating train wreck. You hit the nail though, Veilguardwas made to be the game a random Rook spends the whole game managed the feelings of his merry band of misfits without ever actually solving anything beyond ‘be nice to other cause you’re all good’. A splashy...
