Realistically, if you're pitching for the license now then you've got two plausible routes to get the license.
1) That you can toys better by reflecting the toy line better than IDW did. Not sure I see this as being likely, IDW already leant into this as much as I think it's reasonably possible...
It's perfectly possible to build up many different advancing stories while still having each issue have an ending and telling smaller stories - MTMTE did this very successfully, especially at the start. Sometimes Ruckley's issues genuinely feel like the last page has been cut off and they end...
Yeah, that exo-suit looks like a good effort (though very cheeky that the head on the box has considerably more paint and care than the head on the toy).
Black Zarak arrived this morning. He's pretty nice. No major QC issues, though his shield tabs are very tight due to the paint, and his trident doesn't hold in his hands quite as well as I thought it would.
Still, he looks great in person. Wish I'd bought Grand Max when he was going dirt cheap now.
Road Ranger and Puffer make me wish they'd ever fixed the tolerances for this mold so it transformed correctly.
Tigatron is nice. Might play around with the backstory to make him a pal of Nemesis Prime though, rather than the current very clunky backstory.
Being chonkier helps a bit, but he's still ultimately a pretty boring design. It's not even as interesting as G1 Inferno's transformation, and that was one of the duller ones in Diaclone.
You'll be able to download titles that already have the function DRM free still, but no new titles will be able to offer it.
Although maybe they'll fix it, having delayed the merge admitting that it was going to be a dumpster fire launching it as was last month.
While I appreciate I'm saying it too late to count, it always felt like a leak fishing operation simply because it didn't make much sense.
Dead End was supposed to be maroon with purple windows? That seemed very unlikely. Hasbro don't like having so little contrast on a toy and it wouldn't look...
Urrgh.
Painted windows. Shame, because Cliffjumper's grey limbs look better but the entire toy looks far cheaper, nastier and crappier with a painted window.
I really liked the initial classics approach of not having any faction symbols visible, save for the rub sign, in alt mode. Really sold the "robots in disguise" thing. It's a shame it was dropped so quickly.
I kind of like the idea of the Maximals and Predacons coming about as a result of the...
Ultimately Rich does have good sources. He was the first one to break the mess with Hasbro US pulling DW's licence outside the US.
Given IDW's financial issues of late I wouldn't be shocked if this was true. But there's not that many other avenues for licensed books nowadays. Dark Horse seem in...
It's two parts for the helmet side to side, with a face glued on (which is why the face and eyes look a little better).
The thing is it's not just misaligned - cutting it in half and re-gluing wouldn't help much. The parts just fundamentally don't match up all the way around. It's like they did...
Jackpot arrived today from Hasbro Pulse. He's pretty bad!
The Autobot logo isn't tampoed right so it's really dark, and the head is just... a total mess. Tolerances feel pretty poor compared to Jazz too.
That's not wrong tbh.
I am still absolutely baffled about how Hasbro ended up in a situation where that scene was in a film made of their IP designed for kids. It completely boggles the mind. They must have script approval, surely? Why didn't they immediately nix it?
