The truck mode isn't terrible and that's still strangely rare.

No deal. If I wanted an incomplete toy I could have bought one on eBay already. The only point of paying an inflated price for a reissue was the idea that it's fresh and probably won't have issues.

Little details like that help. If this issue had come out later, without any mention of the framing story, it might have been fine.

I'm not sure what's happening here. Could you provide screenshots of what you see in the editor before it adds those extra quote tags? The editor will add tags at the end of a post to close anything that's left open, but if you're not leaving anything open and it's adding those end tags anyway...
