Holidays can be forgotten. Heath's Warming Eve was about the tribes coming together. After everything broke up, I find it believable that they weren't in the mood to celebrate that particular holiday anymore and eventually they forgot it ever existed.
It's just an exceedingly goofy way to achieve what the original toy managed with one hinge. What went wrong in the design to require this as a solution?
