Universe 1.0 just needed much more accessible fiction to sell the grand concept of it. It could have been a more satisfying sendoff to the G1 timeline than Beast Machines was, and a bridge to the still growing Armadaverse.
I mean, I'd buy it and watch it. It would probably be the only version I watch ever again. I love extended cuts. But this isn't happening.

Most of Hasbro's brands didn't have a hit movie in 2007. Transformers would have survived without it. But I'm glad it happened. No matter what happens with these movies at this point I will never regret getting to experience the 2007 hype.
Fortunately I was dirt poor throughout Kingdom, so it's not too late to pick up most these molds for the first time.
