I took it is them preferring a SS86 one (as in, a completely new, more show-accurate mold) over this Dramatic Capture Series one.

Post Pictures of your Transformers, Let's see firetrucks fighting with sharks!

The thing is, the show establishes the Terrans as being Cybertronians, just classified as "Cybertronus terran" rather than "Cybertronus cybertronii". In other words, Earth-born Cybertronians instead of Cybertron-born ones.

    Reimagining Quintessons

What was actually said in the cartoon was that the art of transformation was invented by the early Autobots in order to combat the might of the early Decepticons with stealth tactics. And this was at a point long after the Quintessons had already been kicked off the planet, meaning their rule...

This basically is a Studio Series version, since Evan Brooks has previously stated that if they ever were to do a SS86 version of astrotrain, it would most likely just be a mere redeco of this Siege mold.

Just so it's clear, that statement mainly applied when it was John Warden (whom the quote came from) in charge of Transformers at Hasbro, and before then when Aaron Archer was in charge as well. But now? Now it feels a little different when we have the likes of Mark, Evan, and BMac running...

You can also see little glimpses of characters from Masterforce, Victory, Armada, and G1 in this teaser trailer. From what little can be deduced from this teaser and its name, the project may end up being just a promotional video celebrating the 40th anniversary.

Which Episode 16 also confirmed was just fanservice and that that "flashback" wasn't a completely accurate depiction of all the events that happened in it. ;) Man, I wish Keith David had used his Goliath voice for Grimlock. Was so looking forward to that, and was a little let down when he just...

Batman: Caped Crusader coming August 1

No, I said the Batman Begins version was just the most recognizable version. The link I included said which comic issue he originated from, Batman #404 (February 1987).

Think of it like "Terran" is to "Autobot" as "Maltobot" is to "any number of Autobot subfactions like the Autobot Cars, the Dinobots, the Jumpstarters, etc." Like, Aftermath and Spitfire are both Terrans, but not Maltobots since they rejected joining the Malto family.

    Reimagining Quintessons

Meanwhile, over in Japan, Unicron's whole schtick was never about consuming the universe, but dominating it. His eating Lithone and Cybertron's moons in the movie was more about asserting his dominance and doing whatever he pleases than any distaste for life itself. But, in contrast to how...

This is also probably why Takara opted not to adapt the 1988 Targetmaster toys into the Masterforce fiction. With how Transtectors were depicted in that series as being lifeless bodies stuck in vehicle mode whenever their human operators weren't attached to them, just imagine how silly that...

Batman: Caped Crusader coming August 1

Another character design that looked familiar to me was that of Rupert Thorne, who looked to me like an animated version of the late great Charles Napier (circa the 1990s).
