HG overplayed their hand. They demanded a recall of all sold products that they claimed infringed on their rights (so basically any G1 styled Jetfire/Skyfire toy post-G1), damages, and a bar on Hasbro ever making another Jetfire/Skyfire figure.
I'm not sure what the status of HG's rights were...
As someone who prefer the Valkyrie to Sunbow design...I'm amused greatly that the most lovingly Sunbow-centric figure yet still felt the need to include that.
Exactly. You hear stories like Universe 2.0 Galvatron getting scaled down to a Deluxe because Animated Shockwave was on the shelves and they didn't want two Voyager grey walking tanks on market in such quick succession and you realize that a lot of choices we may scratch our heads at usually get...
I mean he can basically write what he wants. Royal Mail went to Hasbro about doing a TF thing, Hasbro said "sure" and they went "who's a famous British Transformers person to write some copy and a few blurbs?"
Curious to see what it says, but it's copy for a stamp collection. It can only do so...
The thing with Scourge is that...he is his universe's answer to Nemesis Prime. Had they gone ahead with that name in 2001 I doubt anyone would have batted an eye.
Thing is they didn't- he was Scourge. And the fact that he actually got character further differentiated him from his other "black...
There's a huge leap between "Hasbro realized battle damage is unpopular and re-issued a figure to not have it" and "Hasbro designed an entire deco to double-dip on the figure."
Because there's a good chance most people buying any release of Black Convoy/Scourge from the Legacy Laser Prime mould...
I like it.
I never had a proper RiD Scourge (I'm sure they're due in Canada any day now) but I do love the Legacy Laser Prime mould.
So Scourge will be a good get. Looks like a huge improvement over the RtS repaint and TR repaint outings.
The colour scheme not being accurate to RiD...
One of the not so great things about the internet is that it gave some people just enough vocabulary to think they're smart.
Cybertron went hard on alien alt modes.
Not a single one them was "realistically" designed. You get that? Cybertron Starscream wasn't aerodynamic, and neither was...
Listen Sparky, pointing out the logical inconsistencies in your argument isn't deflection.
But you know what? Sure. The nonsense space car doesn't completely match the previous nonsense space car so toy ruined. Enjoy the sight from atop that hill.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that not...
Why? The same series that gave us Override's mould gave us GF Starscream. Think that thing can fly?
And I think Legacy Override fulfills enough requirements to meet that standard.
And you know this for certain?
It's clear to me that they opted for robot mode accuracy- that being the main drawback to the original.
Prioritizing that meant there would be changes to the proportions of the vehicle mode. And they still did what they could to accurately capture the design of...
We've been dealing with made up sci-fi alt modes since 1986 though. 1984 if you want to count the Power Dashers and the non-toy Cybertronian modes from the cartoons and comics.
And so many of them- dare I say most of them- don't really work for what they're supposed to be. We accept them though...
