So I'm beginning to wonder: for most of my life I've seen technology as "It's always a good idea, but misused, or poorly timed". Is social media just a bad ******* idea?
Let's be fair about it here: until the fairly recent forays into the fiction (say... prime and forward.) megatron really didn't have that much characterization. At first it was because he was literally just the bad guy in a kids 23 minute long toy commercial.

Frankly, its a legitimate character arc:
"This world is broken, but we can fix it by making impassioned appeals to the ruling class"
"Oh, okay... the ruling class is why the worlds broken, guess we need to take to the streets"

It would functionally stop republicans ads as they are now because they are currently nothing but lies.
PLUS it would make republicans actively attack ad firms for trying to abide by the law: so, you know, win/win.
Once again: he is a politician starring in a political add; there is LITERALLY nothing that requires him to tell the truth. No rules, laws, or anything. CAT LITTER has more oversight and less jive in it.
