I went into Exodus with high expectations and it just.... fell so flat. Disappointingly so. Like... RotF levels of disappointment. Made me not even want to bother with Exiles and Retribution.
I like to think of the two versions being a younger and older take 😁
He starts out, his beard is shorter and trim, dark rich colours...
Over time he loses a hand, his colours fade a bit.... his beard grows to epic old man pirate proportions.
If someone wanted to represent Thundertron's past...
I kinda think the line is overrated. Optimus Prime is a neat scaled down MP, but other than that...
Star Sabre and Victory Leo are just scaled down versions of their G1 figures (to a point) and are too small and too limited to work as "modern updates" of their designs.
Starscream is a flimsy...
I admit that I do like Warden. Combiners, Headmasters, stuff like Soundwave and Blaster and the cassettes as tape decks and cassettes that we were told "couldn't happen" under Archer suddenly not only did happen, but ended up (IMO) being quite good.
TR might be my single favourite Generations...
Paint Hardhead blue and grey. Pack in an Optimus head and a Megatron head. Stash whatever head you're not using in the cockpit that hangs off the robot mode's back.
Boom. Done.
How did this not happen?
I'm not a fan of Magnus being huge and Kingdom Magnus works just fine for me. He's a more...
Wait.
I could have sworn that Megs and Optimus being "as close as brothers" or even actually being brothers was part of the original story that became the first live action film, and even made it into some supplementary material before being reduced to just that one throwaway line in the final...
As Sabrblade has said various people attached to TF One have called it a prequel to the live action movies.
Whether that means all of them, just the Bay ones, just the first Bay one, or just the BB-RotB series (itself either a reboot or prequel depending on who you ask) remains to be seen.
Or...
Do we know what class he'll be? If he's Commander sized I have faith the budget can handle the main problem with modern G1 Megs designs- trying to turn something that isn't a Walther P38 pistol into a robot with phantom Walther P38 pistol parts.
