That's not why that doesn't work anymore, Nowadays stores give toy product much shorter lifespans. In the 80s the same toys would be out for at least a whole year, and could be released for several years in a row.
Nowadays stores demand new exciting different products on shelves every 3...
Yeah leak said ShadowS or Shadowstri and folks (rather understandably) jumped to a conclusion.
-ZacWilliam, a million years no one would have guessed "Shadowstrip"
Just saw this on Target's ap.
Anyone recognize that Swoop? Is it a 3rd party figure I don't know? The details don't match up to any of the 3rd Party dinobots I could find pics of on a quick search, but there are a lot of them so I thought I'd ask.
Otherwise I guess it's possible this could be...
For a moment I didn't notice that the name was not what everyone had assumed it would be and was interested in how someone would draw Shadowstriker from this toy, or if it was our first gender-flipped lady to boy...
But now I'm interested in Dragstrip going stealth mode to try to win the race...
I get why they exist and why they sell. I even like the general concept, but... Changes I would make:
1) Nothing sells for $5 anymore that's never happening for a toy this size, but $10 to $12 like the Marvel retro figures. THATS a reasonable current price for something this size. I have also...
I've always read him as Russian too. It's because ending sentences in a question is part of a stereotypical "Russian" voice, da?
-ZacWilliam, it's so ingrained after 30 years I can't imagine him not sounding Russian.
Update on #10 from McFeely over at TFW. Intecs (not Intex after all) was a Korean company that produced the toy that would become Shockwave for ToyCo who originated it. We know Hasbro had a relationship with them because they are in the rights fine print on Shockwave's box.
Sadly nothing comes...
Saberblade was cool enough to share a report from Botcon 2022 in that thread. By far the most interesting thing there for me are the documents Budiansky shared. Among them is the 1985 line Toy/Character as of August 15, 1984. I love behind the scenes stuff like this about how the line developed...
I want to talk about that 1985 character toy list Budiansky shared but it's probably gonna be a long post, and not about Botcon, so I'm gonna make a new thread.
-ZacWilliam, thanks for getting g a pic of that.
Honestly it says something about the media literacy of a bunch of people that I've seen a ton of folks not understanding it's a parody and not a true story after that last trailer. I mean they absolutely could not have made it any more blazingly obvious.
-ZacWilliam, Al himself was joking how...
Oh cool. I never heard of that Manga before. It's awesome to see the Pretender Beasts and 1989 Pretenders in Japanese Fiction (or any fiction really).
-ZacWilliam, especially the 89 Autobot guys that don't get near the amount of play as Bludgeon's team and are really cool darn it.
I just want Silverbolt. He's Season 2 but he's such a core part of the show imo that the lineup they've done feels incomplete without him.
-ZacWilliam, I don't care near as much about Depth Charge (I mean I'd buy him) but Silverbolt is essential to BW for me.
Episode 3 was a lot of fun. I've really been liking the show a lot. We get a good hint at an ongoing plot too. I'd love it to be longer. But I'm also liking what we're getting.
-ZacWilliam, it's just fun.
Honestly I think the skull works fine as is and it looks recognizably like Skullgrin. I wouldn't mind a robot head under it to switch to occasionally but any "upgrade" with out that isn't really an upgrade imo.
-ZacWilliam, I do think removable "masks" is something Hasbro should take a shot at...
Hmm, let me pick another planet.
"Scavengers of Junk"
Leader: Overcharge from Blitzwing
Voyager 1 (New Mold): Rum-Maj
Voyager 2: Daytrader from Legacy Bulkhead with new head, junk-trunk roof.
Deluxe 1: Glow in the Dark Freezon from Legacy Dead End
Deluxe 2: Junkion Nancy from Legacy Arcee...
